Sorry for the very late reply Kitty.
I have actually Maine Coon Mix Felines but they're like pure Maine Coons. They're so adorable
First I need to say you're doing on of the best things in the world, because they're so affectionate!
I can't describe it without examples:
I love it when my Coony Silver comes to me and meows and then he tumbles over and roll from one side to the other, so I know he wants to be petted and I pet him at his belly
The other Maine Coon Kimba loves to climb on trees and bites the banches
He often comes to me too and then we welcome us with nose to nose, but he is bigger than Silver and he is rather like a small warrior
They purrs a lot when I stroke them. And they're nature addicted too and running through my garden and trying to catch mice and flies (and sometimes falling leaves
But they always coming back to me and want to cuddle and eat. And then they sleep a lot after a long catlick. They often lick each other and it looks so cute every time
They're so unique. I sometimes think they're angels and warriors simultaneous and they show so many emotions that you think your feline is your best friend and you can share love, fun or sadness with him. You can be sure he will stay with you all the time and he'll always understand you and make you happy
Oh I forgot a wonderful characteristic of my felines. When I'm sleeping they come to me plenty of times and lie down next to me and so we sleep together like partners and you can embrace them to feel their heart beats and fall asleep with the music of love
So do it and get a Maine Coon or a lot better two Maine Coons because particularly when they're still kittens they need themselves (because of fighting, catching each other, playing, catlick, not feeling alone when you're not at home,...).
My Coonies are 8 months old now and I'm happy that I could/can experience and see how they're growing up
And don't forget to catch wonderful moments with your cam
Have fun while choosing your new friend(s)...
