My Bio
Personal Quote: Watch, study, and learn from your elders, and judge them fairly, for your youngers will soon be watching you.

________________BACKGROUND_____________
Formally educated with work experience in drafting, design, and computer design programs.
Recently, self-taught in use of SketchUp, while still learning Blender.

Previous job titles have been kitchen designer, interior designer for ships, naval architecture and map maker (at a local power authority).

________________PERSONAL_______________
Interests of late have been in 3D modeling game design at IMVU, architecture, and aviation. Earlier passions were for engineering and machines, latently this still continues.

As a product of the 60's a keen interest in ecology, renewable energy, recycling and forward thinking are always foremost.

________________LIFE STATEMENTS__________
While renewable resources are there to be used, waste, misuse and overuse, or non-renewable resources are appalling issues, and I think about how to resolve or work around them, all the time.

I am intuitive and will act on that intuition without waiting for permission from others. However, if I have erred in that action, I am not too proud to say I was wrong.

I'd never use a cracked engine block or head, ever. Certainly not for long distances and most definitely not for racing. If it's a numbers matching restoration then you can try to use it as a once a year driver, but not as a daily driver. That's a weakness that will definitely fail. It's not a matter of if, but when. The factories weld cast iron, but nobody outside factories has that level of experience anymore, by and large. Anybody suggesting otherwise is usually a wishful thinker who knows it's possible but hasn't ever done it themselves. Again, welding cast iron anything else is extremely okay, but NOT for an engine. If it's a rare engine part most engine mechanics won't even touch it for under $25,000 for one reason - so WHEN it fails they can give you back part of the money and still make out on the deal. Talking from 40 years experience with highly rated national shops.

Also note, engine "cylinders" are NEVER welded, even by the factory, which is what was being discussed.

It's more practical to say, no it can't be done, unless you like throwing away money.

I can't tell how to make private notes on this website no more. Are you open to commission work? The only trouble is I do everything snail mail. Do you have a p.o. box or something to do it that way??? I think it's right up your alley (as far as the type of art). You might even recognize one or two pieces...

If you are nterested, and figure out how to private msg, shoot me a zonker...
