Black Cat

[[ Train Heartnet - Hades ]]
Train wields Hades, a black and gold revolver with the numeral XIII engraved into its side and a red tassel tied onto its hand grip weighing 2.5 kg. His gun is made out of the strongest metal called Orichalcum, which allows him to use the gun to deflect bullets and guard against other attacks.
--------------------------------
I've received several notes regarding the creation of props i've made for various cosplays, so I thought i'd put up a few prop submissions. Hopefully they'll be useful as references for others!
Hades is the very first prop I made, though this was the second attempt at making it (you don't even want to look at the first one OTL"). This was made a few years ago, so there's obviously many things i'd be doing differently if I made it again today.
For some reason, I was adamant on making this gun make sounds whenever you pulled the trigger, so the base of the gun is an existing toy gun. It makes a firing noise whenever the trigger is pulled, a reloading noise whenever the reload button is pressed, and a small blue light appears out the front of the gun when the light switch is pressed.
--------------------
Pieces of craft foam form the basic shape of the gun, held together with sticky tape and pva glue. Paper was then spray painted the desired colours (silver, black, yellow), then cut and pva-glued on top of the craft foam.
The yellow details are also bits of painted paper, cut and glued onto the gun, then traced around with a black pen. The yellow details change from picture to picture, and there's rarely a clear shot of the details =S. I sketched out the main bits that were clear from the reference pics and made up the rest myself ^^".
The silver finger-guard is wire wrapped in craft foam and painted silver. Similar methods were used for the reload trigger and sight. The gun nozzle is the orange cap that came with the original toy gun, with a hole drilled through the middle and painted silver xD.
The monstrosity of a gun barrel was modelled with air dry clay, then painted silver and black before being glued on top. D'x
