Description

Team Amaryllis volunteer to be among the first to go out against the hoard. Although they are initially met with an empty desert, the silence is short-lived as the shadow skorupi reveal themselves, bursting out from the sands below. Unfazed by the apparent type weakness, Cecilia and Judith charge forward to meet them in battle...

Team Amaryllis

I will return with a story for this when I catch up to it, but for now, please enjoy this mystery dungeon-esque short animatic of sorts!

I had this idea for a while after seeing the shadow hoard (this would be perfect for a monster house!), but struggled with the execution mainly due to two things: 1) I finally had a spark to actually sit down and write Amaryllis' story and wanted to start from the very beginning and actually build up to this moment and 2) I was very intimidated by how complex this idea seemed and even before starting I feared the end product wouldn't match my vision...But my friends gave me an encouraging push and I just decided to go for it, and I'm really glad that I did!

Lowkey I also had some fomo looking at how the main story was progressing and my story progress was so slow that realistically I would never catch up to participate in real time 🤣 So I told myself I'd continue to write my stories to the best of my ability but still create artwork to participate in current events moving forward~

I know I've said it before to some extent but I think you've outdone yourself here. You created quite a mood to the drawing that is really reminiscent of the games, and goodness knows how hard it is to make grid based art in a uniform way. The snappy limited frame idle animation really makes it look quite similar to how they would move in game, and the flipping dialogue portraits are also a good attention to detail hahaha

I think you did great. <:
