I made this wallpaper last night. The woman is Fran Fullenwider, who played a Transylvanian in Rocky Horror Picture Show. She was also a model with an agency for "unusual people", and she was in a lot of Italian movies. I look up to her because she was a big lady who didn't let society's views of beauty push her around. She did her own thing and followed her own rules and I admire that greatly. Fran was in one of the first Miss Alternative World pageants and her stage name was "Miss Southern Comfort" because she was from Texas.

Hi Mandy - lovely collage. I shared a house with Fran in the 1970s, and wrote a cover feature for Penthouse magazine (UK edition), about our life together (we weren't romantically involved, coz I'm gay, but simply close friends). She didn't actually use "Miss Southern Comfort" as a stage name, but often good-humoredly used it to refer to herself. You can also see her in a movie called Mutations (US title: Freakmaker) and she dances with Vincent Price at the end of The Monster Club. The model agency she worked for was called Ugly, they were wonderful agents and at one point even I was on their books (!) Fran came from Harlingen, Texas - I went there with her in the 1970s, just to visit - what a strange place. Fran always said, privately, that she was very glad she got out of her hometown. And she certainly did campaign unapologetically that "Fat Is Beautiful". Thanks for your post Mandy!

Hello Mr Hamilton! It's so great to hear from you! Fran is one of my role models, because she was so unapologetic about her body. I have the movie The Mutations and Monster Club, and I wish she'd had more screen time in both. I've seen an Italian movie she was in "The Landlord". Unfortunately it wasn't subtitled, so I couldn't understand a word of it, but I was impressed by how Fran spoke the whole thing in Italian
.
I live in Kentucky, though it's not my hometown. My dad used to be in the Air Force, so I've lived in a lot of places. I've spent most of my life in Ohio and Kentucky, though. I'd like to leave here too someday, but I don't know when that'll be. Anyway, thank you so much for your comment!
