After the "24 hrs of fame" and lots to do in real life I felt like going back to the roots, where all this started, with the search for the 3D equivalent to the Mandelbrot Set.This image tells the story of this thread [link] on fractalforums (you should read it if you wonder what the mandelbulb is).
The "bulb" in the foreground is a real bastard, a hybrid of Quanternion, Tricorn and a power 2 mandelbulb", all of them attempts made to find the "holy grail". In the background you can see the Power 8 mandelbulb, the end station of the thread.
This image is a hommage to all the people at fractalforums who made it possible to explore the worlds I explore today.

You missed the stuff to try to make it conformal though - the stuff that lead to the mandelbox and it's awesome variations and mixes with the mandelbulb
And it found its way to a certain group by itself
