You've topped yourself with this one Johan! It really displays a sense of having been 'constructed' ....possibly by some sort of mad fractal engineer?! Puts me in mind of Duchamp's 'The Large Glass'.
Felt it had a strong Dada/early surrealist feeling (Tanguy), didn't get the connection with 'The Large Glass' myself, but you are right, there is some similarity. Thank you very much my friend!
Reminds me of some old surreal Modeling work from years back by Frogdot and some others whose names I have forgotten. I remember Frogdots Redrope project, a series of surreal imagery all tied together by a Red Rope that threaded it's way through all the images.
I don't have a link to them specifically but you can find many of them in Frogdot's Gallery at Renderosity. He has a very extensive Gallery going back many years so it would take time going through it all. The Redrope series was something that I stumbled upon on some other site before I even found Rendo, in fact it was trailing Frogdot's work that lead me to Rendo and got me interested in Digital Art to start with.
As DJ already commented, this is wonderful in that it is so different than some of the fractal artwork subbing here at dA. It's magical architecture unbound by gravity, and is flavored by a surreal "actuality" that is brought about by all those gorgeous metallic surfaces. Refreshing, in that there is no discernible repeating or spiralling imagery (it's probably there, but everything is handled so well that I can't find it), every twist and shape looks unique, and I'm thinking, "Is that a bridge? Is that part of a building?" --- a City built as if a huge circuit board!
Want encouragement to continue the Series? Yes. Very much so.
Thank you for taking your time to make such a long comment Rodger! Happy to introduce you to this kind of 3D fractals. It is a totally new breed, which saw the light at the end of 2009, links to more info in my journal. ANd if you like this, you should check out my gallery...
And it kinda reminds me of a city too, with the box houses and tape roads...

Thank you my friend!
