---------------------
Winter has come~ And with it, we have discovered one tale of misfortune among many such tales told over the years... Ah! But let us not get ahead of ourselves. We must start at the beginning! You see, many strange and unnerving things happen during the winter in Eyre. So much so that winter has become widely regarded as the season of the Spiritkin, who are truly all manner of vexatious!
And I think the beginning should be a brief introduction to these Spiritkin, who are very different from the monstrous and shadowy daeva that stalk Eyre's miasmic shroud, but manage to be a troublesome race of creatures in their own right~
The problem with Spiritkins arise during the final months of the year, when the Great Lunar Spirit (who serves as a guardian of the veil between realms) begins its several month long slumber. As one might expect, its vigil over the gates to the Ethereal is much relaxed during its hibernation, and spirits pass easily from that mysterious realm and into Eyre, where their whimsy leads them to pursue any number of inexplicable activities. These range from entirely harmless, to benevolent, to outright murderous. It is impossible to know what motivation guides the Spiritkin, but there is some measure of relief in the fact that these beings tend to follow their own strict code of conduct and once you know the correct protocol, one can (usually) navigate the highly illogical maze of Spiritkin interactions without losing any limbs (probably).
For example, all Spiritkin are highly disdainful of iron and tend to steer clear of densely populated areas. It's also worth mentioning that most Spiritkin are entirely unable to lie, but they are excellent at wordplay and do find great joy in the misdirection of half-truths. Now, while it's true that there are some broad rules that Eyresians can apply to interacting with the Spiritkin in general, one must keep in mind that there are many hundreds of species of Spiritkin and each one has its own special quirks and etiquette. Indeed there are so many different kinds of Spiritkin that it would be almost impossible to remember the rules of engagement for every single type (though there is a guild devoted to this exact pursuit). Usually people become familiar with the Spiritkin that are common to their region, and pay little heed to the stories of any other types.
There are, however, a few very memorable types of Spiritkin that everyone knows about. These creatures are spoken of in tales told only by firelight, and inspire visions dancing unbidden through dreams and nightmares alike.
One of those is the Dullahan.

Which brings us to today's auctions! ^u^
These two elnins have a teensy bit of established back story together, which the winners are free to continue/elaborate on or not at their own discretion. I just ask that you please try to incorporate the history into their characters even if you intend to take them in a whole new direction.
The White Hart
As part of their responsibility as a noble, this elnin has taken to accepting search and rescue missions for persons lost in the miasma shrouds. When they received word one day that there was a noble missing, they immediately knew in their gut that something terrible had happened. There were whispered sightings of the dreaded Dullahan in the area, and what else would be wicked enough to claim an elnin of noble rank? Afraid but determined to find their lost brethren, the little white elnin went dashing through the snow (hehehe, see what I did there? eh eh?) and into the shadows with little more than a lantern and a few gold and iron talimans to ward away the vile Spiritkin..
The Dark Heart
One unlucky young noble went and found himself face to face with a terrifying Spiritkin! He has had the great misfortune of meeting the Dullahan, who is most famous for its appreciation for decapitation. This Spiritkin carries two weapons, a whip and a scythe, one being fatal, the other being.. slightly more troublesome. The Dullahan's scythe doesn't quite remove your head.. ah.. all the way (as is the case with the instantaneously deadly whip).. Rather, it separates the head from the body in a physical sense while leaving them both connected via tenuous threads of mana. The Dullahan, thus satisfied, leaves its victim to die slowly from the terrible infection of poisonous mana received from the dire blade. (Our brave pomu seeks to keep the addled head from floating away by tying the hair to tree roots.)
Rescued!
The brave white hart has found the dark little elnin and has miraculously delivered a powerful healing draught just in time to stave off a lethal case of mana sickness (who knew the pomu was carrying such a useful thing in its shadow?). True, there are some.. unfortunate side effects that the headless-ish elnin will have to endure from now on, but... it could be worse? Right?

[New Stat!] "Sil'aerthe" Lineage
There is a notable bloodline of elnins called the Sil'aerthe that primarily live within the subterranean depths of Eyre. They are striking in appearance, having generally shadowy colored fur, pale hair, and vibrant bioluminescent markings. Their eyes are more adaptable to variant light conditions (eyes are open/visible) than most other elnin, but bear the eerie black sclera and glowing irises common in cases of gloaming sickness. These odd traits do not indicate mana poisoning in this particular bloodline, but are simply an evolution brought about by their environment. (Fun fact: Sil'aerthe are physically inspired by drow elves heeeee xD)
[Light-headed] Unfortunately, this elnin's head is no longer technically attached to the body. The two parts are controlled by the head and can move independently with some ease until a great distance is put between them. At this time the body becomes unresponsive. Do not fret! The elnin's pomu is capable of assuming control of the errant body in such cases, and can quite easily facilitate a reunion between parts.
[Mana Sickness] Cases of severe mana disruption like this are always followed by mana sickness. This elnin must carry healing potions and/or sealing talismans to keep their infection from spreading. Acquired symptoms:
- Dark Heart - This elnin's inside bits are visible through their neck.. at least.. they should be.. but it's all just blackness inside.
- Horn fractures - The phasmic energy of the elnin's horns is unstable, causing fractures and fragmentations.
- Shadow discombobulation - The elnin's shadow twitches and forms irregular shapes, rarely staying still.
- Leaking black smokey.. stuff.. from the ah.. neck hole - As stated. Smoke dissipates quickly. Is apparently made up of some form of shadow particles, as the pomu is able to manipulate it somewhat.
