MamaLantiis's Thoughts... Wonderful write-up. Makes me want to learn more about her. Just be careful of run-on sentences in future write-ups. A lot of information goes into a write-up. Don't be afraid to break some of your longer sentences up more. The layout itself was great and easy to read/navigate.

Sir-Frog's Thoughts... Definitely take some time to work on anatomy. If there is a certain body part you feel you have problems with, sketch it 50-100 times a week until you start to see improvement. There are many free guides and resources available as well. In this instance, I would focus on joints of the body. The hips are very narrow, the shoulders are wide, her neck is long, her thighs are short, her feet are uncomfortable. She seems very stiff overall, and her forward hand is very awkward. Not a bad start. This is not meant to be hurtful, simply to give you a jumping point into your future artworks. I look forward to seeing much more art from you, your current work shows a lot of promise!

Maiyuna's Thoughts... The pose makes her look so fabulous, and makes me wonder about what her personality is like. I would only suggest adding a bit more shading [or, a darker color shade] and add a bit more motion into the next piece. The way you shaded her skirt is lovely! This type of pose seems to suit her, and you did an excellent job at putting a little bit of her personality into the piece.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Good Ginzuishou, does she had piercings on her knee?! AND clavicle? That's so badass, lol. She definitely looks like one to not be messed with. I love how punk she feels, but still a little bit girly (one of my personal favourite combos). Love that you chose to do a more graphic background with her, it's a nice surprise.
The anatomy is really good, but the legs are just a little off. Legs are not the easiest thing though. Her right thigh (stage left) needs more of a bulge on the top and the shin line minutely curves inward and then outward again as it nears the ankle (when the foot is bent). Her other legs needs tad more definition on the calf. The inside muscle on the calf is actually lower than the outside muscle, so if you were to move the inside muscle bulge a little lower, that would help. Perhaps making the lower legs shorter would help as they are longer than the upper legs right now when they should be about the same.

Sir-Frog's Thoughts... The rainbow happy world background takes a lot away from this piece, as does the swirls in the foreground. The qualifier round is intended to give us an overview of the Senshi, so the powers, while interesting, were a bit out of place. I also take some issue with the brightness of the Messier’s surrounding in contrast with her dark colors. It’s like taking and throwing B93 in the ballpit at McDonald’s. Sure, you’re likely to find her there at some point, but it doesn’t make for a very eye-pleasing picture. You’re definitely off to a good start, just think about colors and how to make them all fit together a bit more nicely in the future. Given your leaps and bounds since I started watching you, I feel like your future works will blow my mind. Keep up the amazing work!

Maiyuna's Thoughts... To start, I am in love with how you drew her hair. There is just an incredible amount of motion in this piece – everything just fits together so well! The only thing I see that I would maybe check out are the hands – although there’s a bit of foreshortening at play, they seem a little out of place there. Almost as if they’re just a bit too big – I’m mainly referring to her right hand. The wind, background, and pose in general are absolutely fantastic – so much movement, I love it!

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... This is really good, and you worked on shadows to create depth to her, but the background feels a little separate from her. Perhaps add a shadow underneath her and creating more of a contrast on the rumble would help to connect the subject with the background.
Everything is done well, although her arms a little too short for her body, although playing with perspective in drawings isn't the easiest thing to do. Her upper and lower half though seem a little like they're different drawings in that the legs are smooth and don't have as harsh a ling around them and then her face and parts of her arms look like there's a darker line/shadow. I do love how you make her more voluptuous and didn't make her breasts too perky, it's much more of a realistic trait of large breasts that you don't see portrayed in a lot of art :]

The pose is so elegant and lovely – while it isn't anything crazy, it has so much movement from the wind caused by the storm in that background. You have a really great understanding of anatomy, which you highlighted by shading to show off a more 3D viewpoint of the curves of the body. I especially like how you added depth to her face and that you highlighted her knees - something that many people forget to do.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... This is a great example of how to incorporate traditional media on a subject with a digital background. I actually quite like the composition of this piece, her hair reminds me of a comet's tail and the tri star theme adds interest and a celestial/holy theme. The soft sparkles emitting off of her staff are a nice little touch. It would be nice to see a little bit of a shadow underneath her though, since her feet are flat, suggesting that she's standing on a surface and not just floating.
Overall great anatomy and I love the style. The only thing I would point out is watch out on the arms. By taking in consideration of how the arm muscles work, you can make the arms more believable; adding a soft curve line to the under upper arm, it shows that that is the tricep area on not the frontal view of the arm. And the bottom line of forearm acts the same way, it needs a little bit more bulge instead of curving inward.

I was drawn in from the shine on her head piece, and loved how the light fell down on the rest of the character. The pose, while not extreme, is incredibly elegant and seems to suit her very well. GwenMayhem's Thoughts... I only docked you a point because even though I know what she looks like, the profile view does cut off half of her fuku from the viewer. Even though this is just a black background, the harsh contrast with the lights on her bottom really speak of the nature of the environment she's in. I'm a sucker for dramatic lighting and powerful pieces that don't overstimulate viewer. I absolutely love the black abyss around her and the small light of hope shining down on her. The only thing I would've liked is to gradually darken the lower half of her body so that she blends in a little more with the shadows.
Really great job with the anatomy, not just with the drawing, but with the shading - that is something a lot of people forget. The fact that you placed the highlights and shadows correctly on her body shows that you really have an understanding of the anatomy. Her hands are amazing as is her face.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... I really love how you did a simple background to really make this character pop, albeit from the shadows. And though I know that background looks simple to the eye (not over complicated, not competing too much with the subject), I know that you did put quite a bit of work into it. Great job.
You have a great grasp on anatomy, the pose plays with some perspective and you achieved that very well. If I were to say anything, it would be about her chest, perhaps her right breast (stage left) should be slightly higher than the other since the shoulder is higher than the other. But other than that, no suggestions.

With a pose like this, I would suggest showing other parts moving [hair, skirt, and sleeves] – as it looks just a tad bit stiff. The shading is lovely! I would love to see a bit more dramatic lighting next time, if there’s a similar light source. I think it would make certain parts really stand out – gorgeous job!

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Although the background is stark, the varying sizes and positions of the stars add just enough interest so that it doesn't look just like a flat background. Love the premise of this, but I would love to see maybe a gradation to where the lower half of her body is darker to accommodate the light being given off from the light in her hands which would be illuminating the body parts closest to it. Gradation is a really great way to add a little extra interest when there's not as much shading being used.
A good grasp on anatomy overall, the only thing would be the legs. You have the start of great legs, but by tweaking the muslce definition, it would make a big difference. The top of her thigh should be bulging more, making a soft feminine curve downward. The bottom of the thigh does curve out like that, but towards the knee, it changes direction (so it's like an S shape stretched out). The back leg calf just needs to be moved down a little bit, but overall great body shape.

Maiyuna's Thoughts... Her expression and pose are both so adorable! I also love the light source you chose for the background – though, with a light source like that, it would cause more dramatic lighting on the character herself. So that would be something to think of next time around. As for the pose I really think you did a great job! It makes her seems spunky, but also shy, so it makes me wonder what she’s really like. I would suggest putting more movement next time, perhaps a more dynamic pose.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Able to see all of the fuku, however would like to see the hair a little more and her left sleeve and they both seem like they're disappearing behind her body. Crisp and clean, however the background I think is maybe a little too simple. Maybe next time try adding in some varying star sizes and star bursts and staggering the stars to create a more interesting background for the eyes.
I love your style, it also reminds me of a doll, it's precious. Although I would like to see her nose (unless she doesn't have one). And you started great on the legs with the thighs, but her lower legs lost definition. Don't be afraid to make the lower legs shapely like the thighs. And remember that the ankle is taper and the foot shape flares out from that. Making the foot more like a tear drop shape with the bottom pinched at a small point would help a lot.
Like I mentioned before with the background and the hair and sleeve being hidden, would like to see you push yourself a little more, this is the start of a really great drawing and with a little fine tuning, it could be amazing!

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Good presentation of the fuku, although I know what she looks like, it would be nice to show the hands so that others could see her fabulous gloves. Fun pose with some movement shown in the hair, makes it feel like a sexy pinup photoshoot.
I just have a few little things; her proportions are a little off. For waist up; her arm is slightly too thick for her upper body, and her head seems a tad large. Although, if her torso wasn't so small (but this I mean ribcage) then the arm and head would seem fine. For the lower half, her legs match the head for proportion, however her waist and hips don't accomidate for the size of her legs. Normally thighs aren't supposed to be bigger than the waist, but if that's the style, then the hips need to be elongated to gradually flow into the thighs, as it seems like she doesn't have a lot of room for her private parts as it is. If you don't right now, I'd suggest drawing the form naked first, including body parts unseen (you don't need to draw in detail though), and then adding clothes, this way it's easier to imagine too how the clothes will behave on top of the body.

If I were to pick out the tiniest of things, I would say to try drawing the head as a whole before adding the hair - so that the head looks like a bald egg, that way the forehead will flow into the skull more smoothly.

Sir-Frog's Thoughts... Way to go! You did well with making a detailed Senshi stand out in a busy background. I can’t tell you how many times I see things like this, and I want to cry because either the details are eating the chatacter, or the BG is eating everything.

Maiyuna's Thoughts... Love, love, love what you did with the background. If I hadn’t already known she had a connection to nature, I would have been able to tell right away with this piece. And that’s what we want! We want to be able to understand your character better by just looking at the piece. I would only suggest using more dramatic shadowing – it would really make her stand out more. Perhaps using a darker “shade” color would help.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... I really like this, even if the background is a little busy, I really like all the legs that flutter around her, and the subtle movement in her hair and clothes. I love the glowing light from the plant and how she seems mezmorized by it.
The only little things I could recommend would be practicing more with arms, which can be very elusive and tricky. On the right arm, her inner forearm I think should be more fleshed out than the outer side. The left forearm needs to be thicker to match her right forearm. Love the pose and the delicate positioning of her legs.

Maiyuna's Thoughts... I love this entry! The coloring is absolutely beautiful, and I especially like what you did with the shadows/background – where one side was dark, and the other light. It leaves you wondering more about her. The only thing I would suggest is using a more dynamic pose next time around. The anatomy itself is gorgeous, so I would love to see more movement.

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Love the light and dark contrast, especially on the face. The only thing I can think of is perhaps making the fishnet on the darker leg more dark. Would like to see a little bit more story telling done with the objects in her hands. But I love how she waits in the shadows, seemingly ready to attack an enemy. You have a really good understanding of the anatomy while showing your own style. I love her fuku, it reminds me of bit of what I love about the animamates and the Amazon Quartet, a little sexy, dash of circus, and a little crazy look in their eyes. A very intriguing character!

Maiyuna's Thoughts... Absolutely lovely! I really love the pose you put her in – even though she’s not really standing or moving, I still see a love of movement in this piece. I can almost hear the chains from her lamp! So, excellent work using a pose like this. I would say that next time you could dive deeper into your shading – as in, maybe more dramatic shadows to make her pop. It definitely looks like you challenged yourself, so fabulous job!

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Would have loved to see maybe some light shining on her from the lantern. Lov e the line the chain is making throughout the picture, it helps to keep the eye wandering to view the whole drawing. Maybe a little more movement in the end of the chain to compliment the lovely flowing fabric on her.
Overall the anatomy is really good. Her right knee looks maybe a little bit too rounded in comparison to her left knee. Her left arm is a little shorter than the left, but perhaps the arm is supposed to be pointing away from the viewer?

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Love the soft snowflakes in the background, floating through the rays of the Aurora Borealis, she definitely looks like a queen of snow.
If I were really to nitpick (because I think the majority of the anatomy is great), would be to "sculpt" a little more. Having her right leg (stage left) curve more into the knee area, because the line of the side of the thigh isn't really so straight like that. You did a good job on the other thigh as you can see the muscle bulging more. Don't forget about about ankle bones, they can be pretty sexy. And Lastly the toes of the feet should be more more parellel to the bottom of the shoe (not completely parallel, but elongating the toes and tapering them to a V shape rather than a U shape will make it look more believable that she's standing on the balls of her feet). Overall, really great anatomy! I absolutely love her shapely figure.

Sir-Frog's Thoughts... First off, how cute is she!?!?!?!?!? Aside from that, what a creative Senshi, love it! I would like to see you add more depth to your shading, especially on light tones like her skin. I subtracted some points from presentation because of the background. It isn’t anything that can’t be easily fixed. I see that there is a constellation outlines, but try using a deeper velvety blue so that it doesn’t look like a cave drawing in a rainstorm? (Sorry if that’s mean) Anyway, looking forward to more of her!

GwenMayhem's Thoughts... Love the pose from the back, it's so unexpected! But I kind of wish we could see the front of her fuku to get more of an idea of what it looks like. I really love her feet. Drawing feet from behind is no easy feat (hurr hurr ;D) and I especially love her left foot. The look over the shoulder is really cute.
Love the idea of her charming the serpent constellation. Perhaps creating a few more negative spaces between the stars? I'm sure she's meant to be floating, but I think a shadow beneath her would be really cool, kind of Sailor Moon R with the starry backgrounds they did.

iLantiis's Thoughts... I really enjoyed your story and how you developed your character through it! I just wish for a little more elaboration on the change from darkness to light and how that effected her as it is so different from what she is and is used to.
