We all know the story of how Pop stole the strings but that's not the full story
(The troll's names are lost)

The 6 tribes lived together in harmony, the elders and the kids was like a big family.
one day the children were arguing over who had the better music. The young Rock princess said a few hurtful things causing the group of friends to leave to cool down. This was very common, the reason why their parents didn't step in. They knew their children would resolve the issue themselves, oh if only them knew...

The Pop prince was in his pod huffing and talking to himself. When someone came in, he was a older Jazz troll, a visitor here to talk to the elders. The visitor asked the young Prince why was he friends with those who clearly hate him? " What? They don't hate me.. we just had a little fight, like we always do.." the visitor had a sad expression as he explain that friends don't fight as much as they do.
The prince got annoyed with the visitor and left the pod to go talk to him friends.


He was heartbroken.. they were still heated after the big argument earlier, they didn't want to talk to him or see him. The older toll was still in his pod and when the prince saw him he hugged the visitor crying in his arms. "You could show them you know." the prince didn't understand what the older troll meant by that.

It's unknow what the stranger said to the young prince, do get him to do what he did next...

The young Pop prince used the power of the strings to turn himself into some kind of monster. When his friends tried to talk some sense into him he didn't hear any of it. The young rulers and their tribes fought to get their strings back ,killing 100s of them and and fatally wounding the rest. As his friends fell the monster's formed changed. All was left was the young rulers the Rock princess, the Techno prince, the Classical prince ,the Funk princess and the Country princess. The friends decided there was no stopping this monster, so they had to seal it away.

This part is also missing. it's unsure how the young rulers sealed there friend away, but what is knows is that it cost them their lives.

After everything the elders heartbroken at the lost of their children, decided it was best to go they're separate ways, taking their strings with them.

When Poppy destroyed Barb's guitar destroying the strings, she unknowingly destroyed the bars holding The Broken.

now free still filled with hatred at his friend's betrayal...he creates this horrible virus
to show the true self of the trolls.. nothing but sins
