Doesn't display properly in Linux Mint 15. Wrong Gnome version?

Hi Malys, I love your themes, particularly unicolors, but I am having trouble in mint lmde running cinnamon. The background is white instead of gray and puts ugly white lines across the top of the window fram and in the background to everything else. Is there some setting I am missing on this? I put a screenshot at [link]

Hey, it's because this theme is for the older version of gnome. I'm not sure if I will at all with this version to be updated - maybe it's time to throw myself :)

Would doing the paypal support encourage you in this? I really like the theme and I can pitch in a little. otherwise, which themes will work well on Linux mint debian/cinnamon/gnome3?

when support me through pay-pal. Remake a new version of the GNOME 3.6 + exactly according to your wishes :)

Hey, this was a while ago...I gave up on custom themes for the time being.  I use cinnamon, which is changing so much that the theme would end up borking the desktop in a month or two and I would have to change back once I figured out hwhat the problem was even, so sticking with the defaults for now and constantly typing in the wrong window because I can't tell without stopping and thinking which window has focus.  Oh well I will keep track of your themes though and if one becomes irrestiable I will pitch in. Sorry, I know that doesn't pay the bills today!  You have some of the most interesting and original themes I've seen though.

I have it mostly repaired. It was because I messed with the theme. now the only thing I have different is that the focused window title text is in a different color (and I imprted nemo and pluma int gtk.css along with gedit and nautilus). I am still getting the one pixel gap, though it is much less noticeable with the right backgrounds. see [link]

I also get it on the stock unicolor blue and stock unicolor gray with no changes. Maybe something to do with running on Cinnamon? the white background screw up picture actually might help trace this...the line goes all the way across above the menu and below the title bar, not just on the edges, which is the only place it shows on the stock theme.

Sir is there a way to adjust the light gray theme of unicolors-blue into a more darken one? Because my eye is having trouble keeping up with the brightness. I have tried gnome color chooser and gtk themer but did not do what i desired.

edit directly in the theme setting....

Also, when starting nautilus from terminal (sudo nautilus) there are many errors that is displayed within the terminal.

Gtk-WARNING **: Theme directory status/48 of theme malys-uniblue has no size field
Theme parsing error: unity-greeter.css:9:35: Must specify at least color and offsets
Theme parsing error: unity.css:58:21: Not using units is deprecated. Assuming 'px'.

All these errors are repeated numerous times. Please have a look.

This is one of the best themes for the linux desktop. Wonderful work!
Boy, I adore you.

Now for suggestions:
For gnome shell (with latest shell in fedora):
1. The app menu have a padding (may be 5,6 px) after the app icon. This do not look good.
2. There is a bottom padding (2 px) added for the panel. Please remove it.

For GTK:
1. The close button rises above the border. It will be better if it starts just below the border.
2. The scrollbars for gtk3 applications (evince, gedit etc.)are missing completely.
3. The alt+tab popup do not show any visible indication of currently selected application. This makes it impossible to change applications with alt+tab
4. The firefox awesome bar menu do not look proper. The side lines (part of the menu design) crosses with the menu items.

Also, it will be better if you could combine both gnome shell theme and gtk theme into a single folder and package. It is easier to install that way.

Anyways hats off to you for the great work. Keep it coming!

Hi! First, nice work man. Best looking and inovative theme i've seen so far. Really shows what GTK is capable of.
That being said, can you tell me what do i need to change in the CSS to change the light blue color to a gray one?
Of course, presumming that's possible and allowed by you. ;]

Keep up the good work man!

Expect the next version which will be slightly dark (blue color will be replaced)

to +- #363636 or #525252
pirce2387's avatar
Also, as a side note, i like the #525252 better. ;]
The other one is too dark.
malysss's avatar
just add a new version to this version, # 525252 especially for you: D
