Got some new Faber Castel watercolour pencils, and they are just the loveliest things to use (the box set came with a sable brush that I'd have happily paid a whole bunch for). So I'm doing some traditional drawings again, and first up is Solid Snake, as requested by my partner.
Touched up a bit in Photoshop, otherwise it's watercolour pencils, sepia ink and gouache.
Anyone can work out what the frog is a reference to?
Oh wow, this is fabulous - I want to get me some watercolour pencils now! It's wonderful to see you uploading <3 I friggin' love this! The colours, the chibi-like style, that curious (and possibly soon to be eaten) frog X3 Lovin' it!
Watercolour pencils are AMAZING! If you can get your hands on some, I'd recommend it. Generally easier to work with than markers or watercolours, a bit more time consuming cos you have colour the stuff in THEN wet it with the brush, but then you can go over it with more pencil and get some nice pen stroke effects going. Much much fun!
