Description

ira , latin for wrath, and one of the seven deadly sins. ira cannon stands for Intense Radiational Acceleration cannon. it is supposed to create a explosion equal to the power of an atom bomb inside the barrel to launch bullets. the large muffler looking object on the end cancels the excess energy from the blast and cuts back on the enormous recoil by 99.9% (which still leaves allot). the bullets and matierial of the gun are near invulnerable since they create the same amount of force at the direction it comes from (hence invulnerable). took 4 hours to make, made in autocad 02 only.

The "banana magazine" looks out of place on this gun, and while the rest of it looks interesting at first glance, the more i look at it the more i realize that this gun is horribly unbalanced, worse still, anyone who tries to compensate by cradling the front of the weapon will get their hand burned by the heat sinks, Honestly this gun reminds me of the Chauchat: [link]

Also how you describe it working, makes it THE most insanely inefficient weapon concept i have ever heard of, issues of potentially lethal sonic booms from the bullets getting driven to hypersonic velocities aside, the way you talk about using a contained nuclear explosion simply as the propellant for a bullet is extremely wasteful.

The infamous Yamato Cannon on Terran Battlecruiser's from Starcraft, is the only other weapon concept i know of that uses a contained nuclear detonation, but at least it makes proper use of all that released energy, by firing it as a devastating bolt of thermal and kinetic energy.
