The God in Moties' Eyes by MakinMagic The God in Moties' Eyes by MakinMagic
Created using Ultra Fractal.

Based on the history/development cycle of the "Moties" from "The Mote in God's Eye" by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

For those who've not read the book, the "Moties" are aliens on a world bathed in much higher radiation levels than ours and for various reasons have developed into anatomical "castes" all of which are left-right asymetric.
The asymetry is reflected in their everyday items and art.
I named this for them as it struck me as being ideal as a derelict church building from a time in their history when they briefly had a Deity (or deities) and a religion similar to some of ours (I can't remember if such ever happened in their history in the book but I liked the idea anyway).

I like it too.  If you are interested in more of the Moties' history you might try reading "the Gripping Hand"

My next read has to be "The Wheel of Time" from start to finish - I've had the last two volumes since they came out and still haven't got round to it - don't want to just read those though since it's so long since I read the rest i.e. I think that makes 15 volumes if I start with the prequel.
I'll make more Motie reads my next sci-fi though.

Thank you.
Super book, I should probably re-read it but I have currently got all 13 books in the Wheel of Time series to get through :)

I just got the latest ("The Gathering Storm") but I want to reread all the rest first to get the full effect - starting with "New Spring" ;) I think it will be about my 17th time through the whole series :)

I remember the book. I had picked it for the title alone. I have found many times that when I choose that way, I am very seldom disappointed. Wasn't there a sequel to it?

Oh, sorry, I do really like this! A very fitting title too!

I think you are rather like *RCPage who liked to explore unusual places in Apophysis. :)

You won't believe the number of "unusual places" on these Mandelbox fractals ;)
