Ultra Fractal can essentially do anything any other 3D rendering software can do because you can write your own formulas for it - this is more than writing scripts in other software - for instance, if so inclined, you could write a formula that would effectively give you Maya within UF - however it wouldn't be as fast as Maya and the interface would be a little restrictive but I hope that gives you some idea of the possibilities Essentially I've just written several 3D fractal ray-tracing formulas the latest of which does the Mandelbulbs and now also simple Sierpinski IFSes like this one.
