For my first journal entry, I shall complain
. Mostly because today seems to be a good day to be complaining about lots of things - gloomy weather, PMS, blooming pimple on forehead, etc. ANYWAYS
I started using this software called ArtWeaver
, it came on the CD which contained the installation kit for my Trust graphic tablet. All in all it's pretty interesting, I mean...most of its features can be found in any digital art software, however there's one thing about it that slightly pushes my buttons - BLENDING!!!
For each brush type you have the option to use it as a Smearing tool, which doesn't give me the same amount of smoothness as a dedicated blending tool would. Furthermore, there is a tool called Distortion
, which can be modified according to one's needs, but the more I insist on a certain spot to blend two colors into oblivion, the heavier the colors get and it ends up creating the effect of a bruise. Not something I'm aiming for when it comes to face highlighting, contouring, creating shadows on clothes and so on XD.
At this point, I'm thinking I have two options: 1. either stick my head deeper into ArtWeaver to figure out how blending works (and if anybody who's reading this knows what this rant is about, PLEASE, help a poor soul out T^T) and 2. get Corel Painter.
This evening, after work and Pilates I will be diving again into a WIP sketch and hopefully come back by the end of the week with updates
Maki Moonstone, over and out! ...for now.
