Things have been too hectic and busy to compile such big features every 5 days to a week. So, I have decided to extend it. Next one will be April 28th due to being in isolation. This theme is inspired by the changing of the seasons! I always think of these animals when things are warmer, like those frogs in the jungles, or the snakes slithering across both grass or sand. I used to have Banded Geckos when I was younger, named Rosie and Charlie. They passed away a long time ago...but I remember how soft, gentle and adorable they were, how small they were with those big eyes. I was gifted them by my mother when I was around 6 years old because of an event back in Primary School, where our teacher showed us these rocks outside the classroom where newts lived, lifted them and showed us, but we were told they were most likely not going to survive as the pond had dried up and they were dwindling. I know my 6 year-old-self felt a pang of pain at that thought! I loved animals, no matter what they were, even when very young. So I told my mum when I got home how invested I was to save the newts! I was determined! I was a very shy, quiet child, I was normally too afraid to talk to the teachers or say anything, but even with my fear there I thought about those newts and how someone needed to do something. We knew a great stream they could live at, after all. I remember both I and mum going back to the school later in the afternoon of the next day with a plastic box with some some clean water in it...yet where there were 7 newts before, only 2 remained now. I named them Rosie and Charlie! We travelled by car and released them at the stream. I always remember that event, and this is why I named the Geckos Rosie and Charlie as well--after the newts we rescued. That's my little personal story time for the feature!

Some music for the theme:

Let's feature some of my favourite artworks that incorporate snakes, amphibians and reptiles in an amazing way. The ones below are pieces that really captured my heart and attention, be it for technique, style, use of colour, detail or plain awesomeness, all are worth showing for various reasons. Give these pieces and artists some love if there are any you find wonderful too. Heart

Please note: NONE of these are photography unless it's crafts! These are ALL digital paintings, traditional art, and crafts.

Aw, thank you for featuring my work! Aaah, there's so many beautiful pieces in there! Heart I'll have to check a few of them out. :)

I like your story for this feature. We had newts living under stump in our primary school, and I only saw them once, so I wondered what happened to them. I also used to go to ecology as a kid, and they had two leopard geckos there. It was always really cool to see them. :)

I know, it's sad the newts all just...vanished. Makes you wonder where they went or what happened to them. I may have found two newts remaining, but what happened to the rest in just 24 hours is unknown. P.s. Geckos are so cute!
