Map Making Tutorial for Beginners (Phase I)

Phase I of my FeralHeart Map Making Tutorial is complete. This is a very easy to follow, step by step, picture-based instructional Guide that describes in vivid detail every process needed in order to build a custom map from scratch using the Photoshop-like image manipulation program called GIMP.

This Tutorial includes the Following

Instructions for creating a Basic Heightmap
Breakdown of a Greyscale Cartography, how it works, and how to use it
Instructions for creating your Alpha Maps/Terrain Mask
Instructions on how to apply Textures
Instructions on how to add custom objects and water to your terrain

A Various number of personal tips and tricks I have learned over the course of 1_1/2 Years while making a total of 37 custom maps, _{(This includes Personal Maps, RP Based Pack and Clan Maps, a Private love nest and little getaways)} for many different FeralHeart Users.
This Tutorial is designed to be viewed using Windows Live Photo Gallery, but it should work find with any image viewing program you decided to use.
