Thank you prof. Rawas for 8 months of painting and cutting 2x2 squares... Almost a decade ago, but the memory is still vivid!

I've been recommending this tutorial on colour for years because it's stuff that not a lot of tutorials focus on. The way that this shows the value of each color is super helpful too. It really goes in depth into the skeleton of how color works, showing "why" instead of just "how to".

Marvelous. I've just discovered your work, and bought your 'Drawing Humans' book (perfect bound).

I've never seen 'value' discussed in quite this way before, and it's like scales falling off my eyes.

Hi! I really hope this doesn't sound arrogant or anything, but I just noticed that the square colour harmony you mentioned beneath the colour wheel should have red-orange instead of red-violet? That would leave a gap of equal size between the four colours, creating the invisible square you mentioned.

I'm aware that you know this perfectly well already, but I figured I wanted to point it out because it kind of bugged me the first time I saw it (I was pretty new to theory regarding artistic aspects). If someone else who are new to colour theory reads this, a possible misunderstanding can be avoided.

That said, this tutorial is extremely helpful and has meant a lot to my own progress in terms of understanding the relations between colours and how I can take advantage of them. So, in case I have not had the decency to thank you before: Thank you very much for sharing this extremely helpful knowledge with us!

Thank you very, very much for making this amazing tutorial. This is irreverent but people at your level usually don't bother to make a tutorial, so thank you so much for taking your time to make this tutorial, I've been having problems with my choice of color and your tutorial opened my eyes a lot. ^^

Excellent tutorial... however: if you desaturate in digital mediums (gimp) you will switch to the corresponding value in the grayscale.. So a desaturated magenta will be a corresponding color in a grayscale, wont it?

This is so very helpful! As much as I love drawing I am most definitely not an art student, so this has helped me recently in making sure to use my coloring to the best of my ability. Thank-you!

This is very helpful! I have been wanting to focus on color composition for a while and this will definitely get me started in the right place. It's easy to understand but has many valuable ideas in it.
