Alter Ego/Sound Suit Project Nov. 2017 by Mairwynn Alter Ego/Sound Suit Project Nov. 2017 by Mairwynn
One of my two final projects for 3-Dimensional art this semester.
Made entirely out of foil, cardboard, newspaper, duct/masking tape, and covered in a layer of paper mache before painted.

It was a wee bit heavy ;u;

I understand on all accounts.
This one was originally supposed to be able to stay on my head by itself...
...but the combination of materials made it very heavy, so my classmate had to help keep it on...
It was a fun lesson though, I've never really worked with 3-D art, so it was a challenge...
...and I sacrificed a lot of sleep to complete it.

it reminds me of my first fursuit head i made for a convention called animethon, i made a spyro head but the material we used was all sintra board and so in the end it was fairly heavy but not too bad, though i would like to make another one that lighter and more comfortable

The weight can be difficult to gauge, especially if it's the first time you've made it. But you definitely learn a lot from first times.
I would love to remake the suit again. Unfortunately I would not have much use for her at the time.

ya with my spyro head i will probably try to wear it a few times before actually changing anything but when i can find the materials I want i will make a new head thats more comfortable, cause there are more conventions in the future to come, i was so happy people appreciated me and my dads effort on making an outfit that way for the first time that it actually looked really good

The materials can be easy to collect, such as recycling places... though it
does depend on where you live. I ended up investing a lot more
money than I should have when I made it because I didn't have
much access to a lot of materials.
I took a peek at the pictures you posted and I am very impressed.
That looks incredible.
The hard work pays off eventually, and it feels... pretty good at the end. c:
