Hey folks! It’s been a while. Couple of things to update you on.

First, I’m happy to announce that our webcomic Ties That Bind is officially back!

Ties That Bind is a webcomic that I started with my wife back in 2007. It went through several iterations until we settled on our current run in 2011. We unfortunately had to put the comic on hold after four chapters due to the increase in my work schedule.

But now, there’s no stopping us. We’re back and better than ever! I’m really excited to journey with these characters again.

Secondly, we launched a Patreon page! Drawing comics is a passion of mine and I want to be able to dedicate more of my time to sharing these stories with all of you. If you could spare a dollar, that would mean the world to me. Signal boosts are much appreciated.

And that’s it! You can follow our comic, studio page, etc. at the links below.

I haven’t updated this in so long there are genuine cobwebs all over the place. You can’t see them but trust me… they’re there.

Some of you might know that Ties That Bind (my webcomic project with :iconsake-bento:) is something that means a lot to me. We started it five years ago but ultimately couldn’t maintain it due to our schedule at the studio. Heck, I never even managed to complete our fourth chapter. Shelving the comic is something I always regretted.

Since then I’ve tried to relaunch Ties That Bind many times but could never follow through. Finding a balance between the comic, my day job, and travel has always been an issue. But it's been long enough. To be frank, I just don’t care anymore. There’s a story I want to draw, characters I want to share with all of you.

After months of hard work, Ayu and I completed the first step in relaunching Ties That Bind. We took the existing pages of the comic, touched it up to be consistent with the look we're currently going for, and packaged it in a shiny graphic novel (complete with the last two pages of Chapter 4 and new art work too!) Right now we’re only selling it at the conventions we attend as guests/vendors. Currently working on making it available for online purchase. More info soon!

I’m really excited to be diving back into comics. It's the creative stretch I need. I ask that you please send positive vibes our way as we set out to complete the story we started 5 years ago!

Oh! and I also posted a time lapse video of the cover art on our Painapple Youtube account. Like and subscribe if you feel inclined to! We'd appreciate it. :)

Anyway, back to work. Currently hacking away at Chapter 5 as I type this. Wooo~

Wow, we're nearing the end of 2013 already. Craaaazy. It's been a roller coaster of a year. Very little down time but overall it has been rewarding. I'll give you a little rundown of things happening and things to come. Here we go!

PROJECTS

Ties That Bind – Happy to say it's still kicking. Thank you to everyone who's been keeping up with the story so far. The first two issues have been printed and we're planning what's next for the series. We're looking to release more material and possibly more swag this coming year.

Oneiro –  Talking things over. Lots of cool things in store for the project. Look forward to more news in 2014.

Commissions – Soon. Stay tuned!

Anyway, thanks to the long time followers who always wait on me and to all you new ones for your interest. Here's to another wild year!

- Micah

P.S. If you're interested in my voice work, I'll be in a new show airing on Toonami starting January 4th called Space Dandy. Keep an ear and eye out for a little, green muppet dude named Bea. :)

As another year comes to a close I just want to thank you guys for all the support you've given. I never thought I'd receive such positive feedback on my drawings. It's truly appreciated. Also, I know I didn't have much to brag about announce as far as voice acting goes but I promise next year will have more cool things to share. Please look forward to it. ;)

And a special shout out to Club-X and the X-Streamers for making life a little more bright and fun for me and Ayu. We love you guys. <3

2011 brought its share of challenges but its blessings have outshone them all.  As for 2012 and the "destructive future" it may hold? BRING IT.  God bless!

Original Post:
Hey, guys. I'm normally really shy about advertising my commissions, but this is sort of a special situation for me. By now, you probably know that there was a 8.9 earthquake in Japan. I have friends and family in Japan, and I know some of them are safe (thank God), but there are a lot I still haven't heard from. My home state of Hawaii is currently under tsunami warning, and I have a lot of friends and family there as well. I gotta say, I feel pretty helpless about the whole situation, but I want to do what I can, even while I'm far away from the ones I love.

Edit: I've heard from my family, and they are well and safe.

First off, I'm surprised a bunch of you actually FOUND this profile. Stalkers... thank you for the watches. >.>;

Anyway, I figured I should actually use this thing. Not sure how often I'll post here but I'll try to stay consistent. It's likely I'll update on my art blog (that I've been shamelessly plugging everywhere) more often. We'll see.

Either way, feel free to follow/comment/ignore it. Piece of Interpretation pieceofinterpretation.blogspot…

P.S. If you leave a comment or send a message and I don't respond, please don't get upset. D:
