My Bio

Hello. I'm a person with an unbound love for art, who got out of a scientific career to pursue making stories and drawing.

I've been working as a character designer, comic book artist and comic book writer for a few years now and I'm always looking for new opportunities to bring my weirdness to new projects.

For me art is about pouring one's mind where people can see it, but also about making other people's vision come to life.

Want to talk about hiring me? Want to just get in touch?

Do you outline or do you write off the cuff? How much should you worldbuild before starting? How many villains is too many? The answer to all of the above is: no. For complicated reasons, I am reworking a story I wrote in April 2019. After some agonizing over I decided to dismantle it and rework it completely instead of sprucing it up. Here's the cool part. It's mostly the same story: same setting, characters and plot. I just changed slightly where I started telling it and the order in which I reveal two bits of information to the reader... and the overall finished thing is so much better than before! The specifics of the story dictated the structure, character choices and worldbuilding, not the other way around. Stop obsessing over rules and structure. Everybody can memorize the "Top 10 rules to write a good plot". It's mostly bullshit. Execution is 99% of the work. So stop worldbuilding and get to the freaking story already!

Here's the thing, lately I've been working more with writing than drawing (like, working working), which is why I haven't been posting much. So you know what? I'll post some writing. Mostly ideas, pitches and outlines. Which could also lead to some

Hi Matteo!

I'm trying to make an anime inspired superhero OC, and I was wondering if you could lend me some advice on how to go about it?

Love your work, btw!
Hi! Sure, we can give it a shot (no guarantees ;) ).

First of all, let's ask ourselves what's the big idea? What's this superhero's deal? What's the first and most awesome thing you'd tell people about them?

Then, let's move on to the "why" and "how" game. Or the logic game... I don't have an actual game for it, lol. Like, why is he like this? How does he dress to give his powers the most effect? Does he like what he does? Does he enjoy having his powers? From the answers to this, we can know a little about how he dresses and behaves.
Well first, I imagine him as a parody of the usual Shounen hero! However, I'm still trying to figure out the powerset!

As far as further details, I thought it could be interesting for him to have a "celebrity status" so to speak!

Other than that, I'm try to figure it out as I go!
Interesting. I'd love to see how it comes along and give you some feedback.
Loved it. Left you a quick comment there.
