At the center of the world is the eternal city. At the center of the eternal city is the arena. At the center of the arena are the games. From the darkness of the dungeons below the gladiators step into an Olymp of light, where gods are made and undone.

Most tend to see those games through the eyes of a material world of entertainment. But the games at their core are a sacrificial rite, a spiritual endeavour. We do not understand them, but still...

Another old picture, mostly I've redone the lighting and cleaned the scene a bit.

Daz3D Iray Render ~7000 iterations.

You have to be fast about the run part.

Yup, you definitely have a gift for creating these scenes! Drama, tense atmosphere, strong characters (personality as well as physically) lighting...
That was a good description of her...   I am and will always be, the Ruthless Sun..  burn, burn!"

Ardoric said that about the ruthless sun, it had a good ring to it, even though his take was more considerate than mine.

by the intense illumination, it makes me think that she apart from possibly dying, and withstanding other people's gazes, she must endure a ruthless sun...poor of her

I've seen a movie once... wasn't the action kind, probably from the sixties. Can't remember much, it was something contemporary, might have been mistery, the weird kind.
It was black and white, somes scenes with the coast and stuff. But I still remember the sunlight, very bright, everything bleached even with b/w, a deadly and morbid impression.
I've never seen that movie again, don't know the name or even care. Yet I can recall that light and the intense sense of decay in that brightness any time.

It is fascinating and probably the most rewarding part of creating pictures or art to get feedback about the way other people react to them. I absolutely love your pictures, they have a deep sense of tranquility and magic to me. But I could not do something like that, even though I like it. :)

To me, she will become the ruthless sun, not withstanding the other peoples gazes, but blinding them.

It seems that it was a very raw movie. having that background, I am more curious to know what will happen later with this scene.

I really don't remember much about it, was some kind of late night artist special, nothing gory. But somehow that light was haunting.

That's an redo of an older scene where I started to create the Arena and the characters.
She was replaced by Brenna in the posted pictures (the woman with the blueish tattoos) but I do like the way she turned out here.

I feel she is probably a professional gladiator contrary to the others that started as captives, kind of top star, very deadly. I even suspect that the rope stuff is just stage acting for the crowd....

I almost wish, you would do a bull fight scene...
