Description

Commission portrait done by :iconviwrastupr:* viwrastupr. I once again thank him and congratulate him for this stunning watercolour portrait of Queen Chrysalis and her OC daughter, Princess Pupa, featured in my My Little Pony, story, Maternal Instinct: www.fimfiction.net/story/66500… In this story, the Changeling Kingdom and its culture are based off Imperial Japan, hence their manestyles and why they are dressed in kimonos. I encourage you all to check out :iconviwrastupr:'s gallery, he is a great artist, and here is the link to the original version done by him: viwrastupr.deviantart.com/art/…. He deserves all the credit for this, not me, if you like it, go over to his version and tell him so. I only really uploaded this to add my fanon information below.

Also, the flag design is by :iconlonewolf3878:

Reigning Queen and Crown Princess of the Changeling Kingdom
By Jewel Beetle

This watercolour portrait was commissioned by Her Royal Majesty, Queen Chrysalis IV, from the, at the time, relative newcomer artist, Jewel Beetle, at the suggestion of one of Her Majesty's closest hoofmaidens. The original portrait was to be of just the Queen, but the Crown Princess, Pupa, was eventually included to make the first portrait of the the mother and daughter with the Princess in her filly form (the last being in her grub form).

The story goes that the Queen and her servants had somewhat difficulty getting the young Crown Princess, inflicted with both mental and physical disabilities, to sit still on her mother's lap, much to Her Majesty's ire. The servants eventually had to provide the Princess mild drugs to calm her down and keep her still enough for the portrait's completion.

The original portrait now hangs in the main sitting room of the Royal Palace in the capital city of the Changeling Kingdom and is estimated to be worth 600 million Changeling Yen.
