I'm forming an animation group to work on a short project this summer, something along the lines of South Park or Family Guy. I plan to work on it from July through October, so it's a great opportunity for film, tv, and animation students to get involved! Most work will be done via the web, so not being in SoCal is fine.
The goal is to provide a place where talented artists, animators, writers, directors, voice artists and others can work together, share ownership of a project, build their portfolios and hopefully sell the short to a studio. The main goal here is to collaborate, share our work with the world and gain recognition of our talents, which itself could lead to jobs or funding of future projects.
Unfortunately, we'll be operating with a 0 budget, but we can plan on doing a KickStarter or an IndieGoGo once there is enough interest. We'll all sign contracts/NDAs so If the project makes money in any fashion, we will all get paid based on what comes in.
What we need are people who have some experience in their field. This means animators who know and have Flash CS5 & Illustrator CS5, voiceover artists who have access to audio software and hardware, writers who know storytelling, ect. We won't have time for training group members on new software or special techniques, so we really need people who know what they're doing. "Real world experience", however, in completely unnecessary.
If this sounds like something you're interested in, send me an email (Cartooncollective1986 at gmail (dot) com). I'd like to hold a group meeting sometime soon. Remember, location doesn't matter so feel free to join if you are not in LA.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
