After 5 years of living in Los Angeles, I'm moving back to Arkansas, but in a different city this time. It's not that we can't afford to live here, but the California government has passed some awful laws recently. That on top of my son getting a shit education isn't helping either. I need to do what's best for him. Since Adam is a telecommuter, we can live in Arkansas while he still gets California paychecks.
We'll be living in a single family home with nature surrounding us instead of more homes clustered together and no more living next to the damn freeway. The rent will be astronomically cheaper which will be a life saver against constant student loan/credit debt. It's still a large city, so there's still Best Buy, Michael's, Kroger, that kind of thing. Ramen and sushi places, too, because that's hella important. And the schools in the entire area have amazing scores in terms of education quality.
It'll give me peace from the constant city noise, and I have a good feeling that I'll have the mindset to start drawing again. I hope so anyway. I feel excited about it, but that doesn't mean I won't be up for disappointment in myself. Haha.
