Eclipse is a trainwreck. deviantART is so impossible and frustrating and ugly now that I mostly just can't stand to be here, so I've closed all my groups, since I no longer regularly interact with deviantART. It is just upsetting to come here, to my old home on the internet, and see it in shambles. I post here in the hopes of luring people to follow me in other places.
Thank you for all your wonderful submissions over the last 8 years. Thank you for participating in the contests and the feature events. MGA was special to me and I'm glad that it was as successful as it was.
Thank you, group admins past and present, who I tried to tag and can't (thanks Eclipse). You know who you are. Thank you for giving up a bit of your time to this group, for putting up with me and for picking up the slack when I was absent.
I will NOT be requesting that dA permanently close the group, because unlike the dA staff, I'm not in the habit of destroying good things for no reason, and I want people to still be able to browse the group gallery. That was what was important. You really should go browse the gallery!
I'm sorry, but I won't be responding to any offers to take control of or continue to moderate the group. Maybe it's selfish, but I don't want to hand the group I worked so hard to build off to anyone else, and I feel like it's also selfish to expect other people to keep doing my work for me by the standards I set.
Goodbye, for an unknown amount of time. Maybe permanently, maybe just for a while. It really depends on what deviantART staff decides to do. Maybe someday they'll right themselves, fix the message center, actually finish the Groups transition, and bring back the category system (which was essential to me for finding art to request into the group). If this group was special to you, consider leaving them feedback. Tell them a group you liked closed and tell them what needs fixing.
