I love seeing people make things using the patterns I designed! I always add them to my favourites if I see them or am told about them. You can see some of them here, and the rest in the favourites folder.

April Contest
Pantone Color of the Year:
:bademoticon: :bademoticon: :bademoticon: :bademoticon: :bademoticon: :bademoticon:
Every year Pantone selects a color of the year. For 2015, it's Marsala, a beautiful, rich red color reminiscent of wine, berries and desert places. So, even if you're not into things like trends or fashion, you might agree that it's a lovely, inspiring color.
Check out the Color of the Year: Marsala blog I wrote last week about this color. There's lots of inspiration for color combos and yarn ideas! Remember any type of project is acceptable for the contest, so be your most creative with it.

Decoding Crochet Patterns: Part 1
Looking at a crochet pattern for the first time can be a bit intimidating- it looks like it's own language! No fear, we've got some helpful tips and charts to share. And remember, you're part of a friendly group of crocheters here at Knitting-and-Crochet who would love to help answer your pattern questions!
Diagram Patterns
-Best for Visual/Logical Learners
Have pattern that shows those funny x and T symbols? I really love the diagram patterns because they give you a mental picture of what the finished item will look like before you make it. Also, once you figure out the symbols, you can just follow the diagram instead of reading through each line of the written pattern, which helps you work through it much faster! Here's what they mean:
This great article from The Crochet Crowd about reading diagrams, brings up

Was February as crazy for you as it was for me?  Quite a bit was packed into the one month with only 28 days in it and I'm still behind...a little bit :D
Just to share here, my March List:

8: Yellow Butterfly Biscornu
I've been reading quite a few blogs of fellow stitchers in the past few months and found one in particular who made a monthly goals list.  It didn't matter that she finished everything, just that it was there and if she did work on or finish anything well, YAY!  I tried that list in January and completed the list. It felt AWESOME. Made a list for February and only finished two, but I DID manage to organize my beads

Army Of Teacups!

I can honestly say that this is all Mattsma's fault for inspiring us to do this as she started with the first of them and then I made the second one and then it snowballed... This is the full army of teacups, in order of creation, as of the time of writing - I will try to keep it more or less up to date.

I Love you most...

Journal Entry: Sun Feb 10, 2019, 6:27 AM
The craft I love the most is, as most people who know me already know, cross stitch. So for my journal I'm going to feature some cross stitched works that I love. Please go give the artists some

First of all I'm going to highlight my friend Mattsma 's DD that she was given last month - it was her first and I'm so happy for her!
Ornaments for my brother by Mattsma

Cross stitch is often used for ornaments but it's so much more! It can be abstract...
This One Feels Scatterbrained by AllisonWhtArtist
like this embroidery by AllisonWhtArtist who says this one feels more scatterbrained. I like it - it's something you can look at for a while and your eyes keep wandering around.

More traditional...
Kimono Geisha by Thiendrah
Like this Japanese lady made by Thiendrah - it's a huge challenge to do a piece this large and she's had quite the journey with it - and with her life while she made it.

It can also be fun...
99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, 99... by Fusainne
like the 99 bottles of beer made by Fusainne - if this falls off the wall ALL 99 bottles will fall of the wall in one go!

And it's frequently used for fanart...
Sailor Jupiter finish by horrorfreakjuh
Like this Sailor Jupiter stitched by horrorfreakjuh it's fun and quirky and shows what the fandom is about.

The last four are all from the newest part of the Artisan Crafts Cross Stitch and Needlework part of the gallery - I did skip past all of the things that looked like they were generated by a pattern maker as I wanted to show actual stitching.

So if you've always thought that cross stitch was old fashioned and just landscapes and flowers have another think - it's anything you want it to be - really!
Have a great day and #ShowYourHeart

About me
What to tell about myself... I'm cheerful and creative - when I'm in the right mood I create more than I can keep up with so it's always a challenge to finish what I start as I have so many idea's. I don't let stuff like not knowing how to do something stop me from actually doing it - I may not do it "right" in the end but I do get it done!

I'm a mother of 2 boys who are (fortunately) not yet teenagers ;) but are a pair of monkeys who keep me on my toes :)

About saying thanks to favs etc.
I had to make a choice between spending a load of time thanking people for favouriting my art - which always brings a smile to my face and a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart - or making more art.

I chose to stop thanking people personally for the favourites but I do still give everyone who favourites me for the first time a llama badge as a little thank you for doing so :) I hope that nobody feels less appreciated for it but well.. someone stole my time machine :( If you need more inspiration as to why I chose this watch this:… It's good advice for anyone who creates art :)

Do I sell my work?
Sometimes - Not everything I make is for sale but I don't usually mark anything as "for sale" so If you are interested in something I've made feel free to note me. I only accept reasonable offers as making things by hand takes time and materials cost real money, so expect to pay more for a one off item than you would for that mass produced knick-knack you saw in a shop.

Please don't thank me for giving you points. favs or llama's etc. there really is no need to :)
