I took a class trip to the comic festival of Angoulême (France) earlier this year. I was blown away by the size of it! we stayed in a beautiful house but man, was it cold!
I met some awesome people, like
they were SO nice to me when I was lost and/or scared!
I also met the director of the Taiwan Expo and 2 of the Taiwanese artists (Evan Lee & Loïc I-can't-read-chinese) Everyone was so friendly and they all gave me some really usefull critiques on my portfolio. The director of the expo gave me a catalogue because one of the artists there inspired me to no end : zeizzz.pixnet.net/blog
Anyway, all the artists and publishers I talked to were positive in general so I'm motivated and happy now
Too bad I didn't win a ticket for the SkyDoll signing for my sister's birthday ;o;
2 weeks after this, I went to my very first non-Belgian convention: tsunacon.
I had awesome neighbours (they fed me lol)
all in all, the people were VERY friendly and I managed to get my transport fees back and broke even.
not too glamourous, but I do think it's definitely worth going back next year!
The day after I got back from the Netherlands, I left for the Ardennes with my classmates. We had a bootcamp in which Kim Duchateau and Jeroen Janssen supervised the comic we had to make.
Getting to this town was an adventure on its own, seeiing as it was in the middle of nowhere and it was so small, our teacher had to drive to the next town for bread. We all chose one of the towns inhabitants and used them in a 4-page comic.
I don't really like the comic I did since I'm horrible with stories but I do think I'd love to do a better one soon. also inspired by Zei ( zeizzz.pixnet.net/blog
Anyway, I have a worshop in the M Museum in Leuven tomorrow and I need to show the precess on my masterproject the day after that. I had better get started x-x wish me luck!
My sister embroiders awesome things. And rings!
check this Nyan-ring out!!
I got a custom ring from her, saying 'MADMODESTY' in pink glitter and it's beautiful! I wear it all the time.
As soon as I do a photo, I'll update!
