Bruno Lindentals

San Salvador, El Salvador

When his camera of choice fell apart, he was able to start anew with the Sony Alpha. While he’s always told beautiful stories within each of his photographs, this has been the largest scale project he’s worked on.

or do cities change people?

As someone who has travelled far and wide, I can tell you that cities can change us just as much as we change them. And your photography reflects that to a tee.

Sony are coming on leaps and bounds in the photography department. Their cameras have switched from being relatively good to really something special.

Exactly my thoughts. I had Sony in the past and gave up on them. Now I have to admit I wasn't expecting this top class hardware at all.

Sin City Christmas by rsiphotography   Almost all my artwork has photos in it taken with a Sony RX-100. I ride bicycles it's easy to carry everywhere so I don't miss a thing and it shoots images quality enough to make my poster size prints. In this image the bridge and the car on pole plus much of the texture was taken with my wonderful camera. Sin City Road Warrior by rsiphotography

No, these are not full res.
The original captures are sharp, trust me. When resizing, one can enhance the sharpness, or not. ;)

"If everything starts and ends with visibility (which, similar to the concept of heat in the theory of energy, is the most degraded form of existence), the point is still to make such a loss of symbolic space, such extreme disenchantment an object of contemplation, of sidereal observation and of perverse desire. […] So why not propose a reverse hypothesis, opposed to voyeurism and collective stupidity? Why not suggest that what people want, that what we all want in our quest which inevitably halts in front of the fortress of obscenity, is precisely to gain the sense [pressentir] that there is nothing to see, that we'll never get the final clue? The goal then would be to verify - by negation - the ultimate power of seduction... […] There is no principle of reality nor of pleasure. There is only a final principle of reconciliation and an infinite principle of Evil and Seduction."
- Jean Baudrillard, Dust Breeding & Fatal Strategies

I wish I could participate but I do not have a working camera. Then again I do not live in a "city" of any sorts.

As to the question of people changing cities and such; it takes both. So many cities in the world in such disrepair, and it reflects the people with sadness, despair and anger. Not just cities either but small towns and villages. Help build those place to be great and you see greatness in people. But it takes people and a want to make the change. Bricks and Mortar, Brooms and Paint do not move themselves.

This is not a contest. It's a project, a collaborative assignment created by DeviantArt in association with SONY, to have four photographers from our community trying out Alpha cameras and documenting a theme.
You can be part of it by commenting your views here or even post photos and tag them with #capturingchange
Hope you like our work so far :aww:
