Grimm's Rapunzel

That was amazing!

i yelped inside whenever i saw Gothel....that character sends chills down my spine all the time. the only not-so-devious Gothel is from the movie Into the Woods.

Suuuch a beautiful book. Everything from the ornamental paneling to the sequence of actions laid out from page to page. Despite this being a tale we've all heard before, the art really elevated it and left me eagerly turning the page as if this was the first time I was introduced to this world. Wonderful work!

that's a way happier and more expedient ending then the one from the fairytale book of my childhood XD

I noticed a lot of influence from the original Grimm version, but I like the twist of the witch, Frau Gothel, being as monstrous in her true appearance as she was in nature.  I also liked the fact that it was a soldier and not a prince, and Rapunzel's father was crafty, as well as scared, this time.

What a beautiful and awesome version of a classic story. I the twist at the climax where the prince fights the sorceress after she ties Rapunzel up with her hair and reveals her true hideous form to her.

I never noticed the brilliance of page 2 where we briefly see the sorceress' true form before she changes into something more pleasing to the eyes.
