Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis is not so much a critique, more an observation. Jamie Hewlett is a superb artist and would probably be honoured by your fandom. However, his art and his utterly unique style comes from a deep understanding of anatomy, particularly that of skinny people. If you want to draw like him, then you must begin at the beginning and start drawing from life. Find really skinny young people that you know and draw and observe them. Look at their hands and see how each finger has 3 joints, that the thumb has only two. Notice the shapes of the muscles under the skin and the way they change the outline. Once you can totally understand it, then you can exaggerate it as he does. And also look at Graphic novels, any will give you more ideas. That's where Jamie Hewlett found his voice, with Tank Girl.
