anyone else think that the lander looks like one of those ultra-modern sci fi porta potties?

First thing that popped into my mind was the cosmonaut thinking "Shit, I forgot the flag".

I'm sure you have seen it, but if you have not, the excellent movie Apollo 18 features one of these as a practical full-sized replica. I am stunned at the quality and realism of your work.

I did not like it due to it being another one of those clichéd, overused and over done horror and sci fi films that is about the fight for survival rather than the exploration. Seriously there are WAY too much of those types of space films. For once I just to a sci fi film that is about the exploration and testing new technologies that helps humanity to work in space as well as make PEACEFUL first contact with aliens and we work together to help each other rather than the fight for survival. I am sick and tired of those films. The only films that are exactly or atleast close to what I want are 2001: A space Odessy, 2010 Odessy Two and the most recent one is The Martian. Yeah in The Martian a huy is stranded on Mars and has to try and survive but there is no fighting against aliens and the Earth is not in danger. But it still ha a sense of exploration in it that I want sci fi films to have.

Yeah, i agree with you completely - there hasn't been a good movie about space exploration for years. Everything that comes shows how scary space is. And how space exploration can be disastrous.  There's just a few movies set in space that aren't horrors or disaster movies.  - As you've mentioned, 2001 and 2010, The Martian to some extent, The Abyss - it's not really set in space, but still, there are peaceful aliens and the underwater setting is kinda otherworldly. And Contact, one of my all time favs. We really need some more good and inspiring space exploration movies. Hope that will change really soon, if not, I'll really need to step in and do something about it :D

"Well, who would had thought that we would get here before the Americans?"

"Nobody knows, comrade. One thing I do know, however, is that now the Americans are going to over-compensate for it. How much time do you think before they get to Mars?"

"... I give it ten years. Maybe fifteen."

I guess this lander carries only one cosmonaut, since it is smaller than the Apollo LM.

BTW - Great work!!!

Thanks :) And yes, this capsule is a lot smaller and only for one cosmonaut.
