Happy 10th and 11th EAAM Day!
Today’s a very special day for me, it’s the 10th and 11th anniversary (aka EAAM Day) of my sci-fi series EAAM (short for Empires Aliens Allies Machines). I missed the big 10th anniversary last year (thanks, life 😅), so we’re celebrating both milestones at once as compensation!
And for the in universe celebration Happy Unification Day to the United Kolin Nations (UKN), may your liberty shine for another 200+ years!
For newcomers EAAM is my long running passion project and sci-fi series. It’s a mix of space politics, big alien wars, and lots of weird creatures. The Kolins (my main species) are the POV faction/species and the most relatable for us humans, so they’re a great introductory faction. They’re also my personal favorite (which is why I draw too much art of them 😅), but they’re just one piece of a much bigger galaxy.
I’m honestly glad that my series has been around for so long, and that I’ve kept working on it, even if most of it isn’t posted online yet (because lately I’ve been too busy at my custodian job to draw). Since I do manual labor and tons of cleaning for 8 hours a day, I barely have time to draw and my breaks are super short, so I don’t get much done then either. More generally, I really need to finally get my series lore out of my head and onto paper.
Currently, EAAM is in its 4th Edition. To give you a sense of how it’s grown, here’s a quick rundown of the previous versions and how long they lasted:
1st Edition (2014–2015) – The original Epic Awesome Alien Man era. The Kolins were the only species for most of this time, ruling the galaxy under a massive federation. Edward (the main character) was originally a Han Solo-type bounty hunter. I also created the KD-100 Robots and the Roachos here.
Early 2nd Edition (2015–2016) – Introduced the Obcy Wad species as piraty villains (a role later given to the Antus). Refocused the series to the Orion Arm. Rewrote Edward into his modern version. Introduced the Main Era of the series: the Kolin–Obcy War.
Late 2nd Edition (2016–2018) – Added the Antus and Termicus species, rewrote the Obcy Wads into a more “elite” faction, and gave their old pirate role to the Antus. Created ESSV, ASAA, Rebecca, and most of the other main characters. Added the Prequel Era (the Roachos War) and the Sequel Era (the ESSV Conflict). Also gave the factions their modern names, like the United Kolin Nations and the Obcy Wad Kingdom.
3rd Edition (2018–2024) – Fully developed the major arcs like the wars, while fleshing out most of the modern lore, species, and characters (though I didn’t post much online 😅). Tried to rebrand from Epic Awesome Alien Man to Orion Wars, but the EAAM acronym stuck too strongly. Added the Andraiden Federation, Krag, Shadow Beasts, and Cydurians.
4th Edition (2025– ) – Rebranded as Empires Aliens Allies Machines to keep the acronym while giving the series a more serious name. Currently focused on polishing the worldbuilding.
Since it’s EAAM’s 10th and 11th anniversary, I drew something special to mark the occasion. A massive lineup of the main/fan favourite alien species side by side, so you can see their sizes, phenotypes/casts and shapes. It’s been a really big and due to my job a very slow project, but I’m proud of how it came out and that it’s finally done.
Thank you so, so very much to everyone! From family, friends, fans and who’s ever supported my sci-fi series. Whether you’ve been following me for years or are just stumbling upon today. Here’s to 10 & 11 years of EAAM!
Happy EAAM Day!
Looking forward to the 5th edition!
