Grinnell

This was a long hike to get up to the overlook above Grinnell Lake and Grinnell Glacier.
Most of the glaciers are gone from Glacier National Park, it's the sad truth.  The glaciers no longer flow either.  And Grinnell Glacier is basically just a snowfield now, you can see the waterfall on the right side as it continues to melt.
We hiked about 3 miles into thick bear country and climbed a steep ledge to get the fall colors in the frame.
Coming back by headlamp after sunset was a bit spooky, always on the lookout for bears.
One of my favorite shots from the entire trip.
