First Snow Redux

Oil on canvas
24" x 30"

I was never really happy with my last attempt at this - so here's a bigger & better (IMHO) version.

Excellent study!

Ah! I'm so pleased to find again sun and shadow on your snow! This version is perfect but I don't remember that a first one has gone wrong. All your snowscapes are fantastic. It's my true feeling.
What about your winter? Has it been positive?

I promised the next post would be a snowscape!. The first try on this painting was a quick study and I always thought it deserved to be done with more care - that's why I repainted it.

The winter here has been so brutally cold that I've barely been oustide.  My studio is nice & warm, though!

How has your winter been?

I'm sure your paintings are always done with care!
A friend of mine living at Chicago has told me that the winter has been very cold and early.
Here in South France, we had just rain, rain and rain. As I'm growing more and more lazy, I spent the winter months beside the chimney, with my book... Spring seems coming now: I'm going to take my brushes again!
