Jobs - Roleplay game aspect

Maarlos horses are essential to life in the desert. Without them, the people living there would not have communication or trade. Your horse can earn XP and become more experienced through learning and working a job.

A horse can only learn one job at a time. To see which job your horse has aptitude for, please go over to the aptitude test.

Each job has three tiers that horses and riders can advance up. Each tier achieved will have rewards and increase the value of the horse.

More jobs may be added as the group grows and progresses.

Musterer
stock horses

Desert cattle and sheep are some desert people's main source of income and food source in the desert. These horses are used to round up large numbers of cattle, working sometimes late through the night. These horses must be quick on their feet and fast.

Courier
Spreading communication through the desert

The desert world the horses live is isolated from major cities and communication in and out of the desert to the city is carried mainly by these horses. To be a courier, a horse must be fast and have great endurance. They must be used to changing climate.

Trader
Carriers of silk, fabrics and spices

The bustling markets where people make their coins are essential to life in the desert cities. Horses are used to cart around wares and store tents. These are a lighter version of the Transporters, and must be used to noisy crowds.

Transporter
packhorses

These horses have enormous strength and endurance. They are used for carrying luggage for visitors and tourists and for residents who move camp often. These horses must be used to being around lots of animals. They are not ridden as often as horses in other occupations.

Training program

Once you've chosen an job for your horse, they must be trained up in that area before they can be used. All horses will need to go through a general training program that will make them able to be ridden.

Horses with aptitude to a skill/job will learn quicker and will have to do less training. These training tasks may change/be adapted over time.

How to 'train' your horse:
You'll need to draw an image or write a piece showing your horse completing a certain task. Training programs will tell you how many images required to complete it.

Requirements:
- Images must show at least 3/4 of the horse
- Images must include a background - simple backgrounds are fine!
- Written pieces must be 500 words +
- The required prompts in the lowest tiers (I) must be completed before the horse can level up to the higher tiers
- A human / rider must be shown in at least one (1) of your training images.

Mandatory Training program
All Maarlos Horses must do this training before going through a job training program.

Choose TWO (2) of these prompts (minimum):

  • Small jumps - Draw/write about your horse going over small training jumps
