Grimlock is of course referencing the ultra-classic episode "Call of the Primitives" from Season 3 of the G1 Cartoon!
Without huge masses like Trypticon or Sky Lynx, the "Cheeky Voice" was able to summon Grimlock to the Galactic Core through more direct means.
