Hellloooo everyone! I've realized it's been years since I've last uploaded anything to deviantArt. I've been more active on tumblr, instagram and twitter but I figured I'd bring life into my old dA account.

To see what I've been doing up to date, please check out the following:

I also have a webcomic, Beyond the Ferry. It's a series of comic strips based on real, but exaggerated, experiences that come with living in Staten Island, NY. While I originally intended to update it every week, I just now update whenever an idea comes to mind.

Be prepared to see an dump of artwork from the past 3 years!
Omigoodness! Eighty Sixed Clothing picked my design as their weekly Skullgirls tee! I feel so incredibly honored and cannot thank them enough for this. If you like my art, or just want to support the amazing development behind this game, you can purchase a tee here:…

It's only available for one week so get it before it's gone!

Once again, thanks so much to Eighty Sixed and Lab Zero for this amazing honor!

Hey everyone! I've entered in another WeLoveFine contest, this time for Power Rangers!
The rating ends in another week, so if you could all please be so kind and rate my design a 5, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance! You can rate it here :)

Also, I have FINALLY gotten around to giving my life to my tumblr! So you can follow me here
I just hope I can get around to how tumblr actually works. So now I've got a Facebook, Blogger, Twitter, deviantART, my own website and a Tumblr to keep track of. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY BLOGS.

Finally, in other news, I have just recently gone back to college.
I've hesitated for a while, mostly to try and find work in my field after graduating Kubert, but ultimately I figured I might as well go back and try to earn a degree while I'm still young enough to do so. So I'm currently enrolling in classes at my local CUNY school, College of Staten Island, mostly to just continue my education, to look into possible internships, and discover what other skills I can do.
Just hope I'm making the right decision. Not sure what I want to major in yet, but I'm looking into something like either Advertising or Communications: Design and Digital Media.

I DO have some comic stuff I'm working on, as well as still doing some freelance art. I've just trying to find my niche in this field, finalize the stories for the several comic ideas I've had, and work on my biggest flaw: time management.

Hey guys, today starts the rating period for the design contest I entered.

If you can all give me a 5 rating for my design, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Vote for it here!

The banner that was used though kinda sucks and you can't see the design on the tee very well, so you can view what it's supposed to look like here:

I'm also thinking of entering their Power Rangers design contest that's going on right now.
These contests are fun and it doesn't hurt to get a little publicity, so my fellow friends and artists should try entering them too!
Oh dA, if only you told me I was able to change my username a year ago lol.

So since I haven't uploaded much to my new account anyway, I'll just move my most recent uploads here.

I know I haven't updated much art since my Poison Ivy piece but I've been crazy busy doing art for a client I've been working with for almost a year and a half already. I would love to show what I've been doing but I've been told not to post anything until the book is published.

But other than that, I do have a couple of things on the back burner, such as a series of comics I've been working on so look forward to those :)

So I've created a new account over here :iconlyssadina:. But now I'm debating whether or not to use it.

Just I'm pretty much tired of the name "Lyss-chan" since I've been using it since high school (-chan is a Japanese honorific usually associated with teenage girls. Derp). And I've had a few people ask me "why did you pick Chan? You're not Chinese!"

At the same time, I really don't want to go through the process of deleting everything on this account and re-uploading to the new one.

Ah well, I figure I'll use it somewhere down the line. So anyone who's watching me, you can add my new account in the meantime :)

Happy New Year!

So I know I haven't updated in a long time. I've been pretty busy these past few months doing some projects for a couple of companies, so I haven't even had much time to work on my own stuff. Hopefully that'll soon change.

But it's almost New Year's huh? Damn time flies.
Hard to believe in just a year I have... graduated from The Joe Kubert School, went to the Caribbean islands, turned 21, hired to do artwork for a perfume company, and met someone amazing.

Hope everyone here had a very Happy Holiday, and have a Happy New Year as well!
Who knows what next year will bring... :)

And so, I've finally reached my final week of my final year at the Joe Kubert School. I just have to finish up my last few assignments before graduation comes around.

It's been a long journey, and although it feels like I'm at the end, I know it's only the beginning.

So much has happened within these past three years. Not only has my art skills grown, but I think myself as a person as well.

And even though it feels like I need to take a 5+ month nap as soon as I finish school, I know I'm not going to stop drawing. All the critiques on my portfolio, whether negative or positive, just makes me want to continue improving on my work.

I'm bummed to be moving back home to Staten Island, but I'm also excited. Like I'm coming back as a new and accomplished person. And at the same time, even though I've been sick of Dover, NJ, I'm going to miss it.
Most of all, I'm really going to miss everyone, both my classmates and teachers.

But being at the Joe Kubert school has been a fantastic experience, and I'm going to use everything I've learned for the future.

So to all my classmates reading this, congrats you guys! We made it! 8D

Hmm, I'm debating whether to keep the Katamari footer or not...

Also, this song and music video are amazing~…

So I've finally started my last term here at Kubert. It's pretty scary that it's almost coming to an end. I'm in the final circle and I can't give up now.

Since my First Year, I've met so many amazing people, made so many close friends, and had so many wonderful experiences.
My friends and classmates up here pretty much became my second family. Friends that made me feel I wasn't alone and always supporting me when I felt like I wasn't going to make it.

But as time went by, our circle of friends just became smaller and smaller as everyone left, but we've still kept in touch which I'm thankful for. But after our close friends left, I feel like I'm back at the beginning when I first started Kubert. By myself. I mean, I still have Rachael and Suz and everything, but it still gets so lonely without our whole group.

I've been scared that I wouldn't be able to make it through the rest of this year because of all the stress and pressure on my shoulders.
I've been worried if my work isn't professional enough. That I'm not putting enough effort in my work like I think I am.
Need to find a job here, gotta apply there, gotta finish a commission, gotta find a job in advance, gotta prepare to move out of my apartment, gotta decide if I want to apply for a college after I graduate, gotta prepare a portfolio for DC and Marvel...
Just so much that have made me want to break down and give up.

Plus, the fact that it's the winter, when it's mostly cloudy, gray, rainy and all around gloomy doesn't help.

But I know I can't fail now. Drawing has been almost my whole life.
I know that there's so many things to look forward to in the future, so I just need to keep moving forward and not think about all the negative things like being pressured to find a job or whatnot.

As stressful as my life may get, I know I can make it.

So here's to our last term everyone! It's been a long journey, but we can't stop now. Just one term to go...
So like, no one drop out now, ok? :)

And now on a random note, I'm officially addicted to Lady Gaga. Damn her and her crazy catchy songs.

Tagged by :iconjigokuhana:

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.

1. I love to draw and appreciate all forms of art
2. I'm Jewish although not very religious, but I believe in all paths
3. I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to music and love all types (well...except crap like CRUNKCORE)
4. I get paranoid about certain things, I can be a bit self-conscious and I'm hard on myself sometimes.
5. I LOVE peanut butter.
6. I like dancing and playing video games in my free time
7. I was born in Brooklyn, but lived in Staten Island all my life up until I started the Kubert school.
8. I love puppies (favorite breeds are pomeranians and yorkies) and red pandas.
9. I once liked Twilight (le gasp) but now despise the whole franchise. Looking back on it, I realized how stupid the story actually is. Plus the fans are psycho.
10. I hate guidos and love nerds~

I don't feel like tagging anyone. Anyone reading this can do it if they like.

So ok, I know I haven't updated in a while since I posted my return from my vacation.

School's started for me over a month ago, and this being my last year at the Joe Kubert School, it's going to be the most intense.

So I'll try as best as I can to update as well as post some new work.

As for anyone who has commissioned me, I apologize for them being delayed, but I'm just so busy with school  assignments at the moment. I promise I will get them done ASAP when I have the time.

I have a whole report of my trip, with plenty of photos to boot. I'll be sure to post it here as soon as I finish uploading the rest of my photos...

In the meantime, I'm still open for commissions until the end of this month, so get them in while you can.

Just drop me a note, or e-mail me at either  or

So turns out I'll be going on a cruise around the Mediterranean and the Greek Isles from July 20th through August 2nd. I'm kind of nervous since I've never been on a cruise before, or out of the country for the matter. But I think it'll be fun :)

We're going to Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and uhh...some other countries around the Mediterranean I guess? Yay!

But I also wanted to say that I won't have any internet at all during my trip, so any commissions that were requested, I'll try to get as much done as I can before I leave.

Anyone else who commissions me this week, I'm sorry but you'll have to wait until I come back. :<

EDIT: Apologies if you see this entry several times, I may need to make corrections.

So, since the school year is over, I thought I'd open up for commissions this summer. :)

Here's my pricing information:

For Digital:

Character sketch:
Busts: $3 each.
Chibi/SD (full body): $4 each
Full body: $6 each

Ex: (So 2 character busts would be $6, 3 characters $9, etc.)

+Digital inks/lineart $5
+Cel/soft shading $10 (includes inks/lineart)
+Digitally painted $20 (ask if you want with or without lineart)
+Vector art $10-$20 (prices will vary)

Character sketch:
Busts: $5 each.

Full body: $7 each
Ex: (2 character busts $10, 3 characters $15, etc.)

+Tight pencils/shading/graphite $12
+Traditional inks/lineart $10

Backgrounds are 40% extra
