I noticed some Groups requests for my images had expired. My apologies, it was not intentional. I wasn't paying enough attention and they expired before I noticed them.

Hi,

Sorry to inform you that the group https://www.deviantart.com/only-wallpapers# is inactive for now, perhaps even permanently.

I'm having health issues and I have reduced my presence here at Deviantart.

This group used to belong to my friend Sherry who passed away a few years ago.

Thank you to all members for your patronage during these years.

I'm taking a small break from making images. I need to get some eye glasses for reading things and for viewing computer screens. Going to see an Optician on the 22nd of April.

Decided to take the opportunity to have a small "vacation" from making and posting images. I'll be back when I get some eye glasses Glasses

Well, I haven't written a journal for some time now.

I saw that the President of Finland got his Covid vaccination today. He's 72 years old. My 73 year old parents got it weeks ago. That is good, no cutting in line, please :D

Haven't got a clue when it's my time. No one I know personally has gotten Corona.

About a week ago my Membership here at Deviantart turned 12 years old. Time does fly :)

It is starting to look like I have abandoned Poser and Vue for good. Not that I like Daz Studio as a software very much. It just has a feel of being slow with bad programming and design choices. But on the plus side iray is free and it has cooler resources available.

My 250 GB NVMe system drive started to feel cramped. Prices have dropped a lot and I picked up a new 1TB NVMe drive for 130 euro.

I've been building and assembling computers since the -80s, but it still always feels a bit risky to migrate my system drive onto a new one. Things can go wrong with software and hardware, and it sure doesn't feel like Windows is interested at all to help you with that procedure.

The reason why I wanted to migrate my current system drive is of course because reinstalling and setting up all my 3D related software on a fresh Windows install is a nightmarish amount of tedious work.

Well, it seems to have gone well. Samsung actually had a program specifically designed for migrating the OS drive onto a new one. Something no doubt many have a need for if they want to replace their SSD/NVMe with a bigger capacity one. System is up and working with the new and larger NVMe drive :) Well done Samsung, easiest migration ever!

If you don't know what a NVMe drive is, it is a Solid State Drive (SSD) that looks a bit like a RAM memory module. The point of having one is that it is tens of times faster than a typical traditional HDD. My model has a 3500 MB/s read speed and 2500 MB/s write speed.
