I am sorry but I can not really help you (never understood it really!) ,

except for a precious tip;

you should get "Fragmentarium", that is a fractal program for CUDA-enabled pcs

Even if you haven't got CUDA, there are loads of examples of DE algos that can be used to get a DE in a c++ like language
