Profit can be king and it is not unusual for industries such as the pharmaceutical industry to do all that it can to insure its profits, even if this means that other technologies are suppressed. Antibiotics are failing to treat many diseases and it is time for these new technologies to be explored. Devices such as ParaZapper, while not medical devices, have been shown to rapidly and efficiently destroy many microbes in water. Since the human body is mostly water, there is a possibility that these non-medical devices can have a significant impact if used to fight conditions such as sepsis. Further research is needed and it will require public interest and urging in order for this to be accomplished.
