Free 3D Model: Roasted Turkey

3D model of a classic roasted turkey, the centerpiece of contemporary Thanksgiving holiday food.  It can be used as a standalone prop, or as part of an existing still life, or culinary-themed render.  This low-polygon model consists of 2,384 polygons and 4,786 vertices. The topology is 100% quads, and as a low poly object, depends heavily on the included high-resolution texture maps for detail. The model is carefully UV Unwrapped, and comes with all the necessary texture maps for modern PBR (Physically Based Rendering); color (diffuse), specular (reflection), glossy (blurry reflection), and bump channels at 4048x4048 pixel resolution.  There is also a special tangent normal map included in the maps folder, for added render detail and realism.

*If your render software supports it, I STRONGLY recommend using the normal map instead of the bump map for optimum detail in your renders.

Available in 3dsmax scene file, and OBJ file formats, for wide range of compatibility.  The .max file is compatible with 3dsmax 2012 or higher.  The OBJ files come scaled specifically for import into various applications.

You are free to use or modify this model as you see fit, for your own rendering projects or scenes. As with all my freebies, the object can be used for both commercial and non-commercial renders. You may NOT, however, resell or redistribute the model or textures, or any derivative of them; individually, or as part of a package/set.

Alternatively, you can also find and download this model from the following resource locations, including additional renders and wire-frame previews:
Turbosquid.com
ShareCG.com

*** OBJ IMPORT INSTRUCTIONS: There are 3 different OBJ files associated with this model, and one MTL file, which defines the texture placement.  You will notice that two of the three OBJ files are labeled for use in specific software applications (Poser and Blender).  For best results, it's highly recommended that you import the correct file to the corresponding software application.

Thank you for this fake actual turkey ;-) Great job on this. Already thinking of ideas!

Hello, is this for a printer? or what? I'm looking for an actual fake turkey... Would love one the equivalent of 8-10 pounds. Any idea where I can find this?

This item is a 3d asset for rendering or games.  It could be 3d printed, but it is not specifically modeled for 3d printing, so the scale would need adjustments and you would need to add a shell thickness to hollow the inside or else the print would be extraordinarily expensive.

Do you do that? How much cost to order that?
:)

I'll have a 3d printable version of this object on my CGTrader profile soon. I'll send you a link when it's available.  It will be about $7.

How big does it print to?

Here's a 3d printable version of my Roasted Turkey model.  The dimensions and other details about the model are in the description.  It's available as OBJ or STL.  www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-mode…

I can resize it to whatever scale you need.  What would you be using it for?  I can do it today if you need it quickly.  I think currently the model would print at 16mm length.  So far, it would print out at 14mm width, 8mm height, and 16mm length.

Oh my goodness!! What’s this for? A train set? I thought it would print big, like a real, turkey, lol!!
I’m looking for a life-sized turkey, but a tiny one, ideally, like an 8-9 pound turkey, so maybe 10” long??

Well it could be scaled up to any size you want, but I could scale it for you if you wanted it.   I could resize it and send it to you privately via dropbox or google or here on DA if you wanted it.  I modeled it small because I wasn't sure what the pupose was, and usually people want pendants or whatever without spending a lot on printing.  So smaller the better usually.
