The Wat Chai Wattanaram is a perfect example showing the Khmer influence in architecture. On this photograph you notice the central prang (temple tower in Khmer style) flanked by minor prangs in each cardinal direction. It was built in the 17th century by king Prasat Thong in honour of his mother. Today it still remains one of the most impressive temples of Ayuthaya, which counts around 200. All are Unesco World Heritage.
