My Bio
I come from a family full of artists. Both of my grandfathers are engineers, one grandmother is a painter, the other knits, my mother is a horticulturist, and my father is a thespian to the bone. When it came time for me to choose my art, I settled on the medium of electroluminescent wire. My canvases range from plastic to cloth to metal, but my galleries and installations are always people. I have my aspirations of fame and fortune, but more than anything, I want to make a living while remaining true to myself. Life as an artist can be hard, but so is every other kind of living.

On a base level, all of my pieces are built to last. EL Wire is notoriously fragile, and when people wear artwork in the real world, every piece has to withstand the stress of being moved around, bumped and bent. My art is also light, flexible, and easy to wear. The other theme behind my pieces is positivity and emotional honesty: I don’t make panels or items that I wouldn’t wear myself. Every design reflects one of three core emotional messages: Confidence/Humor, Innocence/Joy, or Reverence/Zen. I don’t like to express negativity in my work because I feel there’s enough negative expression in the world already. Using EL wire for the sake of positivity is my way of trying to make the world a little better.

One of my greatest joys and challenges is that I just can’t stop thinking of things to do with EL wire! The littlest brush of an idea can start a creative avalanche. Even the impractical and impossible has a home in my daydreams, designs, and conversations. I’ll never be starved for inspiration (though my materials, finances, and time are another matter).

Everything I have for sale is, mournfully, an incomplete piece; my art is only truly finished when someone adopts my works into their own personal message. By purchasing any of my el wire items, you complete my endeavors by becoming the final, finished piece: an animated figure of light, floating and dancing through the darkness.

Thank you for your interest in my art.

Fight the night,
Lux Operon

MEME-apalooza Day 1 PART DEUX (The Longest Day)

Dear ~Raine-shyne ( I don't really know how to tell you this, but the mafia wants you. I think I realized it when I changed my tennis shoes in your closet and I saw you sit on my penpal in Ghana. I'm sure you're man enough to understand that I get turned on by garbage men. I'm returning the couch cushions to you, but I'll keep your photo as a memory. You should also know that I never will forget your eggplant fetishism. Greetings to your frog Leonard, :iconrocket-fish: 1. What's the color of your shirt? Hey, Lux? I'm the Zuko from Youmacon and I'm wondering if you're still working on my Fire Nation symbol? Thanks ^^;

Hi Zuko!

Was assailed by the fire nation on my way back home from Youmacon and put in a gulag. They interrogated me, but I never gave them your current hiding spot. Had to wait for a kid with some bitchin tats to break me out.

Your symbol is all fixed up now. Am I sending it to the address you gave me? If so, send it to me in some kind of code or something. Your sister still has spies outside my studio.

Terrified for your safety,

~Note that Momo handed you~

I bribed Momo with a handful of lychees behind Aang's back. So I hope this message gets to you. He should be agile and crazy enough to where he didn't get captured.

If the address is the same as below, with the name too, then we're good to go.

I'm quite safe, thank you. And yes, my sister's crazy. Don't mention it though or she'll get right on your case.
