Lost by LuvLoz Lost by LuvLoz
The little boy is watching his soft toy being taken by the river. It's almost imposible to spot in the photo, but it was a touching scene while I was there.

Litchfield National Park, Darwin, Australia. June, 2005.

It seems to have happened to most of us at one stage or another. I'm suprised by how many people still miss that favourite lost toy today.
Thanks for the fav!

Very beautiful scene. The kid's lost toy reminds me of my bear Fuzzy that I lost when I was seven. :(

A lot of people have commented that this piece reminds them of a special toy they lost when they were young. Glad you like the picture, and sorry to hear about Fuzzy.

Would have looked better if you had put the camera on a tripod, stoped down to F/16 and put a polarizer on to give a long exposure to blur the water.

It might well have, but since I only had the old and simple digital camera that was a hand-me-down from Dad, this was the best I could do. ;) Thanks for the comment though.

Awww. :( Poor boy. I know what it was like for me to lose a favorite toy when I was around his age. Especially my stuffed unicorn. I was very attached to it, 'cause my grandma gave it to me. :D

Anyway... and I like the capture of the stream, as well. It looks like a truly beautiful place that you visited. :D

It was quite a nice place to visit, the whole park was full of these little waterfalls that you could just jump in and swim about in. I thought the imagery of losing a special toy was something we could all relate to, sorry to hear about your unicorn.
Thanks a lot for the fav!

Even without the story of the lost toy, this is a lovely shot. Having an interesting foreground and the rapids leading the eye straight to the little boy.

can't abide littering...

excellent photo. very well framed, and generally excellent for a spontaneous shot. it's very easy to get caught out of position when the moment presents itself.

I was lucky. I was getting ready to photograph just the waterfall and couldn't get into the right position when all of a sudden it just came together.

He dropped it? That's so sad. This is a great photo, the composition, the colors, the lone figure...
