Hey, folks! If you’ve been looking at some of the bigger-ticket items in my shops at thegreenwolf.etsy.com and thegreenwolf.storenvy.com but you don’t have the funding to buy them outright, remember that I have layaway! I try to be very generous with terms; just contact me with what you’re interested in, how much you can pay down, and how long you think it will reasonably take you to pay off the rest and we’ll go from there.

You can also pay off layaways by being my Patron at the various Art of the Month levels at www.patreon.com/lupagreenwolf . Even better, you’ll also get access to the exclusive Patron-only feed and more :) Interested in any of this? PM me, or send me an email at lupa(dot)greenwolf(at)gmail(dot)com.

I did some cleanup in the studio over the weekend, and I’m destashing some really neat hide and bone bits! Everything’s available at www.etsy.com/shop/thegreenwolf…
ETA: Hey, in all seriousness, if you ACTUALLY want me to make you skully bobbers, let me know! These I just threw together in a couple of hours so they’re a bit rough around the edges. Because the springs are lightweight I can’t really do skulls that are much bigger than the muskrat, but we still have options. Interested? Email me at lupa(dot)greenwolf(at)gmail(dot)com :)

No Little White Book? No Problem!

This is just your periodic reminder that the Tarot of Bones deck does not have a Little White Book in it. The LWB is found in a lot of tarot decks and it includes very basic meanings for the cards. In an attempt to cut down on paper, I opted not to include one. Instead, you can find all the basic card meanings, both upright and reversed, free of charge at thetarotofbones.com/the-cards.

You can also view photos of the original assemblages used in creating the Tarot of Bones. And you can even find out which originals are available for purchase! For all this information, click on the thumbnail for the card you're looking at. You'll see the pictures, first, then either a link to where the original is for sale or the statement "Original Assemblage SOLD" if it's already found a new home. After that are the dimensions and other info about the assemblage, and the basic meanings for the cards. Simple as that!

If you decide you want more elaborate interpretations of the cards to study, consider picking up a copy of The Tarot of Bones Companion Book in either paperback or ebook format from the official Tarot of Bones shop at www.thetarotofbones.com/shop/.

In going through the many, many tabs on my browser, I found a review for the Tarot of Bones I hadn’t yet had a chance to share! Setjataset has a lovely review of the deck and book at setjataset.wordpress.com/2019/…
Pocket Forest by lupagreenwolf
Pocket Forest is an upcycled cedar box that I decorated with all manner of found natural items. Despite being such a lovely little thing, it’s still in need of a home! Details, price and ordering info at www.etsy.com/listing/211879749…
Are you interested in a bigger ticket item (or batch of items) at thegreenwolf.etsy.com or thegreenwolf.storenvy.com but can’t pay all at once? I have layaway plans, up to and including using the art patronage levels at my Patreon at www.patreon.com/lupagreenwolf as payment plans! Plus as my Patron you get access to my exclusive Patron-only feed of WIP shots, news and more, all while making payments on the creations you want to take home. Interested? Contact me at lupa(dot)greenwolf(at)gmail(dot)com :)
Do you enjoy my Breyer customs? Want to try some customizing yourself? I just listed several lots of Breyers in “body” condition to my eBay store, a LOT more than what’s shown here! Check ‘em out at www.ebay.com/str/thegreenwolfp… - and remember that I combine shipping on multiple lots!
I have way too many art/craft supplies! Help relieve me of some of them by checking out my destash section at www.etsy.com/shop/thegreenwolf…

Vulture Culture 101 Stickers by lupagreenwolf
Remember the stickers that all my Vulture Culture 101 IndieGoGo contributors get with their books? Last night I sent in the final design (which does NOT have the VultureCulture101 watermark on it, BTW) to the printer, and this morning I got the print. I should have the stickers themselves later this month–yay! That way I can make sure there aren’t any problems BEFORE I’m ready to ship them out. I’m still shooting for having the book to the printer by the end of the month, and I’ll keep ya posted!

And yes, I had extras printed which will be for sale, but only after the IGG orders are sent out.

In other news, I’m working on interior layout every evening. It’s full of picky little details, especially as I use Microsoft Word which was not intended to be a layout program (but does suffice.) My kick-ass guest essayists have gotten me everything I need from them, for which I am incredibly grateful, and so now it’s just a matter of me carving out time from my already busy schedule to finish this book up and get it out to the printer. I’ve given myself a deadline of the end of March to have the files uploaded--wish me luck!

Hi, all! I have a couple of upcoming events of note that I wanted to share with you:

Northwest Tarot Symposium Free Psychic Fair and Vendor Hall: March 2-3, 2019, Portland (Clackamas), OR

As part of the NWTS in Portland, OR at the Monarch Hotel, the event’s psychic fair and vendor room will be open to the public, free of charge, from 9am – 5pm both March 2 and 3, 2019. I’ll be vending there and will also have some of the Tarot of Bones original assemblages in the art show. I’ll also be signing books and tarot decks from 12pm – 1pm on Saturday (though you can come by the booth for them any time during the event.) There’s a lot more to NWTS, though; find out about full registration and all it offers at the official NWTS website.

Pocket Osteomancy Bone Divination Class: March 17, 2pm – 4pm, Portland (Sellwood), OR

Divination with bones doesn’t have to be complicated! Pocket Osteomancy: A Simple Bone Divination Set is a simple but effective system for using animal bones to focus your intuition and explore possibilities in your present and future. It is based loosely on the Minor Arcana of the Tarot of Bones. It’s great for both beginners who may feel intimidated by more complex systems, and also provides a basic structure for more experienced practitioners to build on and explore.

In this class you’ll learn about Pocket Osteomancy and how to use it, and get to create your own set with real deerskin and bones! You’ll also have a chance to try using your new set for divination, and ask the creator (that’s me, Lupa!) questions. The registration fee is $50/person and includes all materials for creating your set as well as a copy of the Pocket Osteomancy book. To register, please call the Raven’s Wing Magical Co. at (503) 946-8951. Official Facebook Event Page here.

Holy cow, folks, I lost track of how long it was since my last update. My apologies. I’m not going to give you a big rundown on all the other things I’ve been focusing on in my life; suffice it to say that I have been hard at work clearing the decks so I can focus on getting this done.

I am looking to send the book to the printers in March. Here’s what still needs to happen:

–My awesome guest essayists have sent me the bulk of their work and at this point I’m just waiting for a few pics and minor details. I’ve already plugged everything else I’ve received into the manuscript.

–I’m currently added some finishing touches before I start actual layout of the book. (I took a break from turning all my sources into proper APA format to write this post, in fact. Why, oh why, didn’t I write my citations properly the first time instead of just posting URLs and book titles? Ahem.)

–Layout involves formatting the pages, the text and the photos correctly. It’s something I used to do professionally so it’s not that difficult, just REALLY TIME CONSUMING. But it’ll look great when I’m done!

–Once that’s done, I’ll have a final page count and I can make the actual book cover. See, the page count determines the size of the book’s spine, which affects the trim size of the entire cover, so I can’t actually design the cover til I know how big it has to be, down to the millimeter. Thankfully CreateSpace has some good tools to help with that.

–At that point I can get the book files submitted for review to make sure there aren’t any errors, and then once I get the green light I can order the books! Yay! It’ll take a couple weeks for them to get to me, during which time I’ll be prepping IndieGoGO (IGG) perks and the like.

–Shipping is going to take a bit of time as I’ll have literally hundreds of packages to send out, but IGG orders will be the first ones out. Since I am a one-woman-show and this isn’t the only thing I do for a living, it’s going to be a bit of a process, but I’ll keep you all posted.

–Once all that’s done, yay! The book thing is done and everybody has their stuff and hopefully you all like what I created!

I really appreciate your patience; I seem to have a bad habit of underestimating how much time it’ll take me to actually do a thing, so I need to remember this for my next IGG. *sigh* The curse of the optimist. But it IS happening, if more slowly!

So. Done with my update, back to the manuscript. You rock my socks!

Nature isn't perfect; why should we be? In my latest blog post I talk about how instead of striving for perfection, perhaps we should look at something a little more realistic: www.thegreenwolf.com/natures-l…

So last month the largest spinning ice disk recorded formed in the Presumpscot River in Maine. It’s a pretty rare phenomenon caused when a piece of ice breaks off a frozen river surface near a bend and is spun around like a record. This one, being so incredibly large, attracted a lot of attention.

Unfortunately, not everyone could just appreciate it for the natural wonder it was–and I use “was” deliberately. Find out what happened to it and why that's a problem at www.thegreenwolf.com/sacred-na…

Hey, Portland-area folks--I’m teaching a class on Pocket Osteomancy: A Simple Bone Divination Set in March!

When: March 17, 2019, 2pm - 4pm

Where: Raven’s Wing Magical Co., Portland, OR

As a naturalist pagan, I find the sacred in all things--including the messy, the gross, and the overlooked. Working on a farm has helped me to appreciate the magic in manure; read more at www.thegreenwolf.com/the-magic…
Poet Mary Oliver passed away this past Friday. Her poem, Wild Geese, was instrumental in shifting my path toward one that is much more nature-centered, particularly in the approach to morality. Read how this happened at www.thegreenwolf.com/the-invit…

Hi, everyone! So, first of all, happy new year! I hope your 2019 ends up being worth all the crap 2018 threw at us.

Second, things are getting back on track for Vulture Culture 101. The guest essayists are putting the finishing touches on their essays and should have them in their final form by the end of this month. Once I have those I can actually lay the book out, add in photos, get a final word count, and then design the cover accordingly. After that I should be able to get the book to print; I'm hoping to release it by early spring.

I really, really appreciate your patience; 2018 knocked my feet out from under me in a lot of ways, and while a lot of good came out of the experience, it did mean a few things had to be temporarily back-burnered, including this book project. But I never lost sight of it, and it's time for me to get this thing out into the world.
