Annual 9/11 WIP. Using flower symbolism this year.
I have two routes I may use:
Traditional watercolor/marker with gold based ink - risks more errors during a 2x emotional period but will achieve the "gold" foil look I'd like naturally.
Digital>Traditional>Digital - I always print out the blue digital sketch and go over it with pencil to give it more 'life' and then return to digital to color. It limits errors, but will require the use of foil textures that may not look as natural.
I always get so indecisive at this step. Every year I must go back and forth. I even have the desire to ink by nib, but I'm going to need a lightbox to transfer the image to bristol. The flowers are going to kill me. I've never been good at them.
