Over the past few years I've had a few requests for work. I feel the need to give a little insight into the effort required for a single piece, for serious consideration before asking me for work.

My last piece was a weretigress done in Blender. I did not time myself (I will start doing so), but here are some rough estimates:
Research: 4 hours
Design & layout: 2 hours
Background: 4 hours
Pose: 10 hours
Textures: 2 hours
Shading: 24 hours
Lighting: 2 hours
Hair: 4 hours
Fur: 12 hours
Water effects: 8 hours
Test-renders: 20 hours

All those hours are me, hunched over my machine.

Custom morphs for fangs and claws had been done already (no estimate on those included).

+ Final renders: 90 hours (during which my computer is unusable for anything else, but does not require me to be there)

Going back through my file system, I can see that the piece came together over a four week period, with most of the work being done over an intense final week. It took about 50 iterations to get it to a state where I was ready to publish it.

So you can see that the whole thing takes some time. Granted that this was my first serious work in Blender in a while, so there was a learning curve. I'm expecting to be able to re-use some of the piece in future works, and to become more efficient myself, and to get some better rendering hardware. My goal is to be able to produce something in a single week. I could possibly do lower quality work in half the time. I expect to have multiple things in progress at the same time.

Comments? Pointers?

I've been trying to set up my Patreon page for the past week. I cannot save any edits to my page. If anyone can help me please let me know. I have contacted tech support but so far no luck.

I'm still here.

I've put some amount of time into creating morphs for DAZ Genesis 3, and now I've decided to put all those aside and make the move to Genesis 8, mainly to take advantage of the large amount of dForce clothing available.

On the technical side: I've found a Blender plug-in to allow me to use DAZ figures in Blender here. I was working on my own, but now I don't have to. :)

I've also been honing my story writing skills (especially horror).

New art soon.

Remember to fear the moon!

I can't believe it's been a year since I lost my last rig, and 7 months since I've posted anything. On the plus side, I've hit 150,000 views. Yay! I've got a new rig now.

I've changed my name to LunaticWard in preparation for starting a Patreon site. Don't worry, I will still post here. I'm not hiding my art behind a paywall.

On the technical side: I've been experimenting with my pipeline. I'll be using Blender with Cycles to do my rendering, but I'm on the fence about sticking with Poser to do my animating. For simplicity I'd like to stay entirely in Blender, but I haven't figured out how to use my existing content in Blender yet.

More soon.

The power supply has taken a trip to that big electronics dump in the sky. It has slipped its copper coil.

On the fence about getting a new power supply or simply building a new rig.

I wish there was a way I could just fave an entire folder.

It's been a while.

I am working on abandoning Poser. It's been a long time, but it's time to grow up. I've been working with Blender. It's free, and the interface isn't too bad. I haven't explored it fully to see if it meets all my requirements yet, but judging from the demos I've seen it should be ok.

K
You know who you are.

K
Any ideas? Scenarios? A location and situation would be good. Maybe a little narrative. No sex please.
Break from what? Yeah, yeah, I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been working on some new images but none of them are any good.

Anywho, got laid off, so I'm full time looking for work right now. I don't have the mental cycles left to work on much, so it may be a while before I release anything.

K
I'm taking that as a milestone.

Thanks to everyone who looked, faved, and commented on my work.

I'm coming up on 50K views. To celebrate, I'd like to do a little animation, 10-20 seconds maybe. I've got an idea for something relatively quick. I need a male for a support role. If any females want to apply for the lead, that would be great too! Just a few seconds each. Send me a note if you are interested.
It's been a while. I've been busy. Thought I'd share some stuff.
I've recently found some render settings that will make fur effects more realistic than what I have been doing. Renders do take longer, but I'm hoping a new rendering rig will help bring render times back down.

i'm still working on animation so rendering is not such a worry right now.

I'm hoping to have more to share with the community soon.

1) I don't take requests.
2) I don't know you, unless I do.
3) I don't like you, unless I do.
4a) I don't care what you think, without qualification.
4b) I don't care about your opinion. Opinions are like a**holes.
5a) Don't bother criticizing any artist unless you have some portfolio of your own. If I have respect for you the I will listen.
5b) You know nothing.
5c) Don't ever say '...you should...' to an artist. You know less than nothing. You are a turd.
6) Absolutely no half-compliment-criticism-insult-requests at all. You will get nothing but a dead rat in the mail.
7) You don't pay me. I don't have to pretend to like you.

We share the stuff we make, for free, because we want to share. There's absolutely no benefit to us.

For serious :(
It's been a while. What has been occupying Krusty's attention?

I've been concentrating on animation.

I'm very close to having a finished scratch track using Missa's voice talents, and a couple others. It took a few sessions, and some mad editing, and now it's sounding pretty good.

I've also been doing some test renders and experimenting.

I'm having an issue with Poser 2014 Pro and motion blurring. I tested the same  scene in Poser 2012 Pro and it's fine. I'll be talking to tech support ASAP on this one as motion blur is critical. I'd use 2012 but it's much slower and crashy.

Less than 3 days left on this awesome sounding Indiegogo project.
