The two of them made their way down the stone steps with caution. It was common knowledge that the late king and queen were devious people who surely set up some kind of trap somewhere to stop anyone else from getting down here. They were secretive too, and Bog was certain that this was a secret the two of them had taken to their grave. Understandably the two were both a tad nervous. This was less noticeable in Marianne, but you could spot her gaze occasionally shifting side to side a tad erratically, which Bog knew meant she was nervous. “So I never- I never met your parents, I don’t really know what they were like other than what my father, and people like him said. I don’t wholly know what to expect.” She admitted. “I don’t like that…” “I did know them and I’m not sure…” Bog laughed nervously. “We could come up against anything here really…” He finished, shrugging. “Well that’s comforting…” She snorted, causing both of them to let out nervous giggles as their apprehensive pawpads

“Thank you so much your majesty... You know it has been many years since it happened. We really didn’t expect any compensation…” The bean told Bog, their face one of immense gratitude. “My parents ruined your farm, and ruined your livelihood. I know it has been a while but I needed to give you something to make up for it. They stole from you, therefore I felt I should compensate you somewhat.” Bog explained, looking back at Marianne, who nodded. “I don’t know what to say, your majesty… Other than thank you…” They continued, their mouth still open. “You’re of course welcome. I’m sorry that the previous monarchs were such a scourge on this land.” Marianne and Bog left this bean’s house and found a bench nearby. They sat down and Marianne pulled out a notebook and a pen. “Right so… That’s all the simple jobs done… Now we have the bigger ones. Moranatlis… Bog had not set foot there since he was young, and yet it seemed so familiar. It truly was his home, he could tell. The people had welcomed him back with open arms and his coronation had been one of the greatest lights of the nation. His old staff had come with him, and he had also hired several new ones. The thing was that this was a palace, yes he had lived in a mansion but a palace was huge. He didn’t have the first idea how to keep it together. He wished he had paid more attention as a kid. He found himself wandering the corridors a lot at night. The cool, marble lined areas of the palace felt calming to him, as if returning to an old friend. He had been cooped up in the palace and it’s grounds almost his whole childhood, and yet it didn’t feel like a prison. He loved growing up here, and he loved the palace. He had been happy, ignored by his parents but happy. He had looked after his garden, sat at the frog pond for hours and taught himself how to paint in this place.
